Constipation

My 16 month old son keeps having hard bullet like stools he is going daily more than once but it’s not a lot and like I say rock hard. I’ve been giving him fruit and have just bought some prune juice but he’s not keen. Was hoping someone might have a top tip?! Thanks.

Is he staying hydrated? I must confess if we’ve been out all day and I’ve been lax giving my 1yo water she can be a bit constipated the next day. Also if she’s had a high fibre day like lots of brown pasta, her morning shredded wheat etc this can cause hard poops. I actually was told by HV to give her white bread/pasta instead.
