Son soiling staff at school not being nice

So this afternoon I went I pick my little boy up from school he is 5 , his been soiling himself for 2 years now we have good weeks and bad weeks today wasn’t a bad day he soiled him self once but according to her is was a bad day I said oh dear , he was really good in the holidays she just looked at me and said “ well and gave me a dirty look “ I turned around and said I’m trying my best here and looked off she made me feel belittled and I felt really upset by her tone of voice and attitude .i feel I want to inform the school of it it was the ta not the teacher

I'm really sorry to read your post. As I read it it made my blood boil. I would go into school tomorrow and complain. Her attitude stinks. She obviously doesn't understand at all. As a TA she should be supporting your son not belittling the poor thing.

Thank I’m going too , I have. Written a email and going to send to the head of school and my sons teacher , I’m so mad

Yes, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this attitude. Not exactly inclusive is it?

We have had trouble like this and they are skating on thin ice re: the law on children with SEN (continence falls under this heading as it does impact on school life and learning). I always think you have to advocate for your own child, and other children who might not have someone to stick up for them. If she gets away with it now, other children in future will get the same treatment. Not on.

Let us know what the outcome is. This sort of thing does pop up on this forum and its good to know how schools respond when challenged. Glad you've taken it further. Makes me mad too.

Hi you need to get a doctor note and give in to the school senco. This is appalling yes go higher and put a complaint in.disgusting behaviour from a ta not on.

I feel your pain. I think most school staff think this problem is just bad toilet training but it is so much more complex than that. I am still angry about comments made to me in reception and year 1, I was told off by a TA for still lying my son down to clean him (dried on poo from bottom to knees after a day of neglect at school!) and year 1 teacher was cross and told me he was frustrating! You could try sharing any letters from gp/clinic if you are attending any, plus I feel relationships moved on when the SEN staff lady became our point of contact. Perhaps request a meeting. Although you are really cross, try to stay calm when you do speak to school, they are just ignorant!!
