Five and a half year old bedwetting.

My daughter cannot grasp staying dry at night. Potty training her was super easy she was three and got it within a week. I've spoken to her doctor who says this is normal even though the NHS website says it's not. Only 1 in five children wet the bad at five years old. I've tried everything from reward chart, bribing with toys ect and nothing is working. I'm at my Witt's end with it and just really want to crack it before we go away on holiday in September.

Hi, so sorry to hear this but I know she is not purposely doing this. She is 5 and she knows that it is embarrassing when she wets herself. One advice I can give you is to take her to a chiropractor. I know it doesn't sound right however I have seen it work. I've worked as an assistant in this holistic area for 10+years and I wished we serviced more children to help them with bed wetting, body issues, tiptoeing etc. I have seen a 9 year old cured of bedwetting. Yes, it works! All 3 of my kids are under chiropractic care since birth and they are still walking :) please have a free consult first and interview your Chiro doctor :). I hope you will try this holistic approach

Make sure they are drinking enough water. Avoid blackcurrant and don't let them have milk before bed as this makes kidneys work harder. If she does not poo every day or every other day then she maybe constipated, also it should not be a hard poo (straining). Keep bed time relaxed and reward drinking enough water during the day and not a dry bed as they can't consciously control bedwetting. (We have just had our 10 year old signed off the incontinence service and found stress to be a major factor).
