Excellent informative video.. I had a successful prostatectomy at Mem Sloan Kett 10 months ago. That was easy part now is hard part. They did a TERRIBLE job informing me of aftermath. I take daily 20 mg Viagra “no effect, Trimix/ Bimix injection no effect. I am 59 yo , if I knew then what I know now I would of sought alternative options. I’m basically on my own trying to figure this out hoping for the best !

There are many of us who have had RP. Please feel to post questions here...or send us messages directly. In a sense we are all going it alone...but there is support here. Not to steal from LGBT messaging to youth...but...It does get better!

Also...I kept a diary of my post RP experiences and notes on what they hasn't prepared me for after it. Since I am originally from MA...I call it " The Pilgrim's Prostate Progress" (apologies to John Bunyan). I really should type it up at some point. It has been a journey.

I think they purposely exclude most of the post surgery info bc they feel they’ll scare some of off .

And to steal from the Graduate...."One word....KEGELS!". I spent $2 for an app called Kegel Talent...programable routines, reminders, etc. But you have to do it daily and deep. Got both incontinence and ED under control in surprising time (varies given each person's situation and procedure).

Honestly I have not done a good job with that

Yeah...but it works. Now Nike...JUST DO IT! That's all my rip-offs for today. :)

Get that app...it really helped me stay on track. Best $2 investment I ever made.

I'm in the same situation as Georgefil I had a RP a year and a half ago tried all the medications, nothing worked, my doctor just recently prescribed .5 ml trimix not only was it painful when I got the erection but it caused it to curve to one side and after having it for 4 hrs I ended up in the emergency room, what a night! I'm debating on trying bimix as the pharmacist advised but am unsure, so you're saying that kegels will bring things around, the same exercise I did previously for bladder control after the RP ?

Unfortunately I had no luck with Bimix either ... don’t know where to turn now ?

I ordered and am trying the Eddie by Giddy ED device (google it). Packaging is slick...but looks like a glorified cock ring to me. I'll let you know what I discover.

It helped me get mine back...along with the use of a pump (as part of a U of MN study). I just don't get the longevity for it to be particularly productive :( And now injections no longer work. So the search goes on.

I agree I think that before a RP one of the questions they should ask you is are you active sexually and if so these are the possible side effects of the RP, that way the patient could make a more informed decision, instead they go over everything but sex afterwards

Ur 100% correct, I learned more from internet then from my dr... I went to Sloan bc I thought I would get best possible care. Now my only means of communication is from some bullshit portal at Sloan
