It's finally time to share again with all you amazing people.

Next month will officially be one year since I was diagnosed with epilepsy and the doctors are still unable to find the cause, so I just get more and more drugs. I'm finally on max Epilim and Epitec and they've added a new one to the cocktail last week. After the epilepsy my body started doing strange things (and I'm not referring to the fits). I developed Hypertension, Water Retention, Extreme Anxiety, Depression, Cholesterol and rather memory loss. Latest news from the docs is that they are now worried about my sugar levels which seems to be spiking.

Does anyone have any advice? Anyone else been bombarded by so many illnesses in less than a year?

I'm really trying to stay positive, but being alone with no support structure or people who understand, makes things a little more challenging.

I have been on Epilim for more than 10 years. The first time was during my high school - around 1991 till varsity in 1998. Then I stopped them just because I was tired of taking pills. It was only in 2007 after I felt that I might have a seizure (since I feel my body just before I have one). The doctors also could not identify what causes them - even after lumbar puncture and CT scans. I have since gone back to Epilim from 2016 till now. I have since discovered that the seizure is triggered by stress, so I try and avoid stressful situations - especially if I know there is nothing I can do about it (not in control).

In the meantime, I enjoy exercising, going out, praying, spending time with my kids and have a continuous spirit of gratitude and sense of independence (which appreciate everyday).

I pray that you get clarity - if needs be, get second opinion and know that with better management, you will pull through. Wishing you all the best.
