Sorry to hear sodium valproate affected both boys. Hope the Lamotrigine works well for you. Am planning on switching to Lamotrigine soon. All the best.

Initially I was put on Levetiracetam (Keppra) and I couldn’t even reach my recommended dose, as I found the side effects awful.

They made me so angry and even more depressed and suicidal than I usually am.

Following this I was switched to Lamotrigine, which I have been taking for around 18 months, no seizures and aside from an initial upset stomach for about a month they have been fine.

Great to hear the Lamotrigine is agreeing with your body. Thanks for the heads up, will definitely switch by end of September.

Which brand do you take? My son is switching to Lamictal due to problems with supply if Accord version.

I am currently on the Accord version, but earlier in the year I was switched to another (sorry, can’t remember which one), but now back on Accord

Is there much difference between Accord & Lamictal?

I’m taking lanictal with Keppra.

To be honest I don’t know, other than they both contain Lamotrigine.

Lamictal is a brand name, I guess like Levetiracetam and Keppra.

Sorry, probably best to take a look yourself.

Hi just finished the switch over from Zonisamide to lamotrigine (still taking Keppra) within 10days had a petit mal all of 30 secs 😟 Having terrible night sweats now! Has anyone else suffered from the sweats? As it effects my sleep!
