Your response is exactly what I expected, thank you. You don't have any evidence of the vast number of side effects that you mention in your original post because they don't exist. Cannabis has amazing benefits for all kinds of ailments such as Epilepsy, MS, Fibromyalgia, Parkinson's, pain relief etc. Please educate yourself before coming out with statements that are not factual and misleading. Maybe you should try it to control your seizures, it works wonders, I know from first hand experience. Keep well and good luck.

CBD for epilepsy is very different from the cannabis you smoke. For a start you can't get high from it as there is no THC in it. It can interact with other medications though such as lowering the volume of the epilepsy drugs in your blood.

Its actually neuroprotective unlike epilepsy drugs that are neurodegenerative,

There are very few side effects from medical cannabis less then most of the AED's that are prescribed.

Nausea

, Vomiting, Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Dizziness, Diarrhoea, Changes in appetite but these usually occur at the start of treatment or when you take a dose that is too high. Its mainly going to be prescribed to people with certain types of epilepsy so may not be available to everyone.

"This is a historic moment in medicine," Devinsky said. "Hopefully, the FDA will approve this medication in their June meeting and cannabidiol will be available for children and adults with these two rare epilepsies."

Although CBD oil has become a trendy cure-all, treatment of epilepsy is the only use that has garnered significant scientific evidence supporting its usefulness"

Hi Rourke

I am thinking about trying this, as my epilepsy is not very well controlled.

Have had it since I was very young. I am now 69.

Have tried so many medications over the years, as hospitals treAted me as a guinea pig.

Problem is which one do I try?

Thanks for your time

Alf

Theresa May’s Husband Set To Profit From New Cannabis Medicine After Government Relaxes Ban

GW Pharmaceuticals, a company whose largest investor is UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s husband, Philip May, has received FDA approval for Epidiolex, a new cannabis derived drug to treat childhood epilepsy. The announcement comes just days after the Home Office relaxed the UK’s strictly controlled ban on the medication for two children suffering from related conditions.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid issued a licence for a batch of cannabis oil, which is illegal in the UK, to treat Billy Caldwell, who suffers from violent epileptic seizures. Shortly after the move, Alfie Dingley was also granted a license for the oil, to treat his epilepsy. Alfie had previously been denied the medication.

The Home Office licenses were issued in the middle of June, with FDA approval of GW’s new medicine being announced on the 25th June, in a GW press release aimed at London and California. The approval for Epidiolex would have been given before the 25th.

FDA approval means that the drug can be purchased within the 30 current states in the US which allow medical marijuana once the chemical compound within the medication gets its classification status. California was the first state to allow the consumption of cannabis for medicinal purposes, which it did in 1996. It also has the largest maximum limit for possession in the US.

GW’s move to include London in the press release is not an accident. Epidiolex is under review by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and a decision on whether to recommend approval is likely to be made at the start of 2019. The UK government is also preparing a consultation on the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

The timeline for the cannabis medication’s production and approval raises serious questions about whether the government has been involved in insider dealing, which is illegal in the UK:

2016 – Theresa May wins the general election

May’s husband owns the majority share in the world’s largest producer of cannabis, GW Pharmaceuticals

Hi Rourke 12345

My Dad had epilepsy so I do understand a little about it. Like you my Dad"s was brought on by an accident caused by a car crash!

I have done a lot of research into cannabis use and have found out too it's origin. Cannabis is one of 'Mother nature's' healers. There was a time pre. 1950's when Cannabis was used in cookery, when a person felt poorly, in pain etc they would add Cannabis leaves to stews, bread, cakes,. biscuits etc. Herbalists would grow Cannabis for such uses. Then around the 1950's some wise guy wanted to know what affects Cannabis would have if he rolled the leaves of the Cannabis plant and smoked it! It was never meant for that and that guy should never have smoked it - however he did and that's when the problems started, he experienced uncontrollable laughter, hallucinations and paranoia which is only experienced when one uses it in cigarette form and NOT in cookery. As you probably are aware the Cannabis splif has become more refined today because they now present it differently to the way that wise guy used it back in the 1950's.

In the meantime the large pharmaceutical companies got wind of the benefits to health from the Cannabis plant, they wanted solely to harness 'Mother nature's'' plant and it was these large pharmaceutical companies who put pressure on the government's to make Cannabis illegal to grow and use.

Today pharmaceutical companies around the world have been awarded sole rights to what's lawfully ours! If we wish to use it for medicinal purposes, we should be allowed to, but these pharmaceutical companies had seen collosal £ signs and then they started to rake in the money by charging us extortionate prices selling their pills to us! We don't want their stupid over priced pills, we want to be able to walk into our gardens and take some leaves from 'Mother nature's' healer!

I am so angry that here in England there is a pharmaceutical company who are harvesting their own Cannabis farms in two secret locations down South! At the end of the day, government's around the world have accepted bribes from the big pharmaceutical companies to turn a blind eye and make the growing of cannabis illegal. We the people who suffer daily from chronic pain should be allowed to use Cannabis and grow it too, because it was found in 'Mother nature's' garden, so therefore we should be allowed to be able to go into our kitchen's and add a leaf or two of Cannabis in our cooking for when we are in pain!

Sadly there are another group out there besides the big pharmaceutical companies - they are called 'DRUG DEALERS'! Who also have seen £ sign's by selling the form of cannabis used for smoking splifs which does have side affects! That wise guy back in the 1950's ruined it for genuinely sick people all around the world who need 'Mother nature's' healer! There are now too many greedy pharmaceutical companies and drug dealing individuals who are monopolising the Cannabis plant and people like you and me and the thousands of people who are suffering on a daily basis are having to beg their GP's for Cannabis oil - It's a bloody disgrace! In Amsterdam they do have free reign over the cannabis plant, but sadly it is primarily used for smoking and not for what it was intended. I think we should too but NOT for use in a cigarettes form but allow us to use it for what it was intended for initially - 'MOTHER NATURE'S' HEALER!!!n
