People with epilepsy in England are being reminded to ensure that they have a valid medical exemption certificate if they claim free NHS prescriptions for epilepsy medicines.

People with epilepsy in Northern Ireland are likewise allowed to claim free NHS prescriptions for epilepsy medications. Speaking from experience.

Yes, in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland everyone gets free prescriptions. In England they don't. People with epilepsy need to apply for an exemption certificate so they don’t pay for their prescriptions. But this has to be renewed every few years.
