Hi Dave

It is not unusual that your EEG hasn’t found a cause or area of the brain affected. It only means that there was no epileptic activity in your brain at the time the test is being done. But, this doesn’t rule out the possibility that you have epileptic activity in your brain at other times. A clear EEG test does not definitely mean that you don’t have epilepsy. For around six out of 10 people with epilepsy, there is no obvious reason why they have developed the condition.

yep mine!! - i had generalised seizures as a child, and now i have focal ones as an adult (lucky me lol) and i've had an EEG with each and neither showed anything up - it would be interesting to have one now the focal seizures have spread though

Its not uncommon for a EEG scan not to show anything I have had so many of them over the years and nothing ever showed up. Its normally only if there is epileptic activity during the scan that something shows
