Adhesions.

This is the scar tissue that everybody grows after any injury or trauma, and that could be just a ova bursting from an ovary or any endo or any bump bash or strain or surgery. it's the body's way of protecting itself from future injury only in many people it doesn't know when to stop growing and it keep on growing till it hits a nearby object or organ or ligament and glues to that then onwards it grows just like nearly set chewing gum. sticks to everything and can develop it's own blood supply. It can stick every organ in your stomach to other organs and cause what's called a frozen pelvis where none of your organs are freely able to move as they would have been when you were younger.

Nasty stuff no way to stop it but you can have the adhesions cut back at each surgery, but then again each surgery just encourages more of it to grow.

It isn't an illness or disease everybody has them to some degree an while some companies have developed barriers to place between organs to stop them sticking together so soon again after surgery to free them up, they don't last long and the adhesions can still grow in all directions. They do not invade organs like endo does, they grow where there is space to grow, and stick to surfaces. The worst they can do is when they grow around your intestines or bowel or ureters or fallopian tubes or cervix or vagina and form a glue tube around them that stops them stretching when they need to be stretched.

This is one of the main reasons for bowel difficulties and painful sex and smears etc.

Far too many adhesions strands gluing things firmly in to place.

Yeah they did find a lot of adhesions too but the sticky ovary was listed as a different thing :/ I've had endo lasered off the whole of my right pelvic wall, womb and other spots. I still get loads of pain where they said my endo was but in my second lap they said there was no "active endo" whatever that means lol! All I know is that this ovary must be ovulating this month coz it's killing me, just one particular spot on the right hand side. Thats where I get the pain during sex too so I'm guessing the ovary has reattached itself to something else. Had a trans vaginal ultrasound after having massive pain to find it had freed itself from the back of my womb....not something I'd wish on anyone, an ovary tearing itself off something is properly painful!! I just can't get over how drs just shove pain killers in my hand and say well there's not much else we can do....totally ridiculous if you ask me grrr :(

Thanks for your reply impatient, I see you on here a lot you defo know your stuff :) hope you're having a relatively pain free day, hugs xx
