Hi everyone, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for replying over the weekend and today to my earlier blog post. I started replying individually to everyone but it's easier to write another post!
I have been back to my usual GP today who is not the least bit concerned about my blood pressure which wasn't really that high apparently. I think the GP on Friday was just very inexperienced. I have been told that it is anxiety causing my symptoms which I can believe after worrying I was going to have a stroke!
I am starting amatriptaline (spelling might be out!) tonight and if it works will taper off the tramadol, in the meantime he said carry on with it as the stress is doing me more harm. I have a nerve block booked for March which hopefully may help.
I had an awful weekend and it was all preventable, obviously with 1 pain tablet I was going to be in pain.
At least now I can relax, and it has made me think long and hard about the best way to deal with neuropathic pain and hopefully I am now on the right track.
I really do appreciate everyone's support and hope you are all having as pain free a day as possible - I am much better now I have taken my painkillers. xxx

I have been on Lyrics for over 4 years. That was before I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I have Coeliac disease and was still having terrible symptoms, pain wise and "bathroom" wise. (I know it's disgusting, but I was running to bathroom 18 -25 Times a day and being sick). Was on tramadol for ages, and rules, and went from 18 times a day to once a fortnight. So saw different go and she put me on Lyrics and it sort of managed some of the pain.
I have been on lyrica (pregabalin) before but only 25mg and it flared up my ME so I stopped it.
My current pain consultant has put me back on it to try and reduce my morphine - he started me on 75mg and wanted me to increase to 300mg within 4 days.
I feel awful - constantly drugged up, can't keep my eyes open, I usually need laxatives to go to the loo and take them every 3 days but it's stopped them working properly. I've only managed to get up to 150mg. Did these symptoms stop for you?
Not sure I can continue with it.
To the original poster - amitriptylene can help but you may find it makes you very drowsy and tired. I'd recommend first taking it on a Friday night so you don't have to get up for work the next morning. I'm glad you can continue with the tramadol and I hope you can start to cut it down if possible
