Hi

The endo diet is for improving the endo symptoms e.g. decrease bloating and pain. It could make you lose weight, but this is not the purpose of the diet at all.

Hormonal treatments like zoladex etc are having a very common symptom, weight gain and water retention. I believe this is the main reason you got back the weight if your diet is still the same.

Even hormonal tablets have this side effect, I was only for 1 month in progesterone pills and I gained few pounds, I was bloated and felt like a big bubble ready to explode!

The endo diet could help you a bit and improve pain as well, but it is quite strict. Gluten/wheat free diet is the main thing that could help you with bloating etc.

Hi Jo, can I ask why you had progesterone pills. I had my ovary out 30th Oct, and have been all over the place since, I have asked by doctor for a blood test to check my levels, but refuses, until I have completed further tests on my vision.

I had them as hormonal treatment before my 2nd lap.

They were like the mini pill but much stronger. Too many side effects for me so I stopped them after a few weeks.

Why does your doctor refuse a blood test? is it something related with vision etc?!

3 days after my op I developed bad headaches and bluured vision, not that anyone listened to me, thankfully I had an annual eye test and my optician discovered I had swollen optic discs, they thought its was bih, have had a lumbar puncture and pressure was borderline and have a minor inflammation on my spinal fluid. I think it is to do with my oestrogen levels, as the symptoms have lessened as time has gone on, had my first proper period in Jan, since my op, but have other symptoms that would indicate a lack of it. He wants me to get this sorted first x

I see, i guess he thinks that you should do one thing at a time. I think it is very important to verify where the eye pressure problem comes from and then take it from there.

What i have understood with women with endo is that we all have multiple problems, coming directly or indirectly from endo. I did acupuncture a while ago, only 1,5 months after my 2nd lap and my body got so overwhelmed that I have severe back and leg pains. (on top of post-op nerve pain)

I've been told it will take a long while to settle.....

oh well, i hope you are feeling ok today :) x

pain is definately a 4 letter word, hope you don't have to wait too long for things to settle xx

I put on two stone on zoladex too, I could usually lose weight easily but couldn't seem to lose any weight whilst on zoladex so could only put it down to that. The first time however when I was on it for six months I didn't gain any weight but the second time it was almost immediate. It did help with the pain though so I stayed on it for two and half years. Now I'm off it I'm trying to lose the weight.
