I've recently moved to Guernsey so have lost my wonderful GP and I wondered if there were any specialists on island or whether you had to go back to the UK for laps etc. I've had 2 laps but i can feel the pain building again. I also wondered whether IVF is available on the island?
Thanks

I am also an island resident although not the Channel Islands. In the past I've had most of my endo treatment in England but in 2011 moved across to the Isle of Man. My island GP referred me to the hospital here so they could 'keep an eye on me' because of my recent gynae history and I've had a couple of outpatient appointments so far.
In December 2012 I had a lap done on the island which went ahead with no problems and am going for post-op follow-up there this week. The island hospital has gynaecologists but no endo specialists. This is fine in my case as I am two years post-hysterectomy so shouldnt really still be needing endo treatment!! However I am still experiencing pain and discomfort and so my next request will be to restart Prostap as I had good results with that before the hyst.
I can only speak of my own experience but perhaps it is similar in the Channel Islands. Generally in health matters more complex cases of illness such as oncology and heart surgery island residents are referred to the North-West area of UK such as Liverpool and Manchester. For Channel Islanders I guess this type of surgery is done in Southern UK such as at Southampton? So if your island hospital doesnt have the expertise in severe endo this may be where you are sent for treatment?
I am sorry not to be able to offer advice about IVF as I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to have children.
Hope this reply helps your situation but feel free to ask anything further, xx
