Stages of endo???

What are the different stages of endo, I wasnt told a stage I was just told it was worse then they throught and I had scaring and adhesions. I dont know how the stages work??

Hi BexC - I believe the stages are categorized as follows:

Stage 1: Minimal

Stage 2: Mild

Stage 3: Moderate

Stage 4: Severe

This ranges from minimal where the endo is what they call 'superficial' and is lying on the surface of things up to severe where the 'infiltrative' endo can be found deeper.

I got this information from 'Endometriosis for Dummies'

I would add that I believe this is a very individual condition and that a woman could be on stage 1 with severe pain or stage 4 with little pain and vice versa. I think it depends on the location of the endo and if it is near any nerves etc. It's good to learn your own symptoms and how they affect you.
