I went back to see the consultant on Monday, not only has he said its really bad and i will need to have laprascopies every 18 months to 2 years to remove endo for the rest of my life but he said that i also need to have kids in the next 1 to 2 years to have any chance at all. Rather scary when i'm only 21!!
Basically getting to the question, he wants to go back in with just a telescope to see what the HRT has done when i finish this course later in the year.
I just wanted to know if anyone had just had the telescope and if it is the same level of pain or less etc. Need to know so i can make suitable arrangements at work etc.
Thanks

I am really sorry to read what you are going through. I had 'really bad' endo but had total radical excision surgery to remove it. Has a good record of non-recurrence over a 10 year period. Had it a year ago and have not had an endo twinge since, despite having had ovaries stuck up and in wrong place, cycsts, on bowel (also twisted into wrong position), on bladder, in pouch of douglas, on diagphragm. I personally would ask for a second opinion and ensuring you are seeing an endo surgeon specialist consultant and not a general gynae. The Surgeon I saw has has success with this type of surgery and subsequent pregnancies - some surgeons who are not quite so specialist will recommend removal of ovaries - I managed to keep mine so it is worth seeking another opinion.
