Hi I am in the process of being diagnosed atm and waiting the endless wait for a laproscopy. I was recently prescribed the progesterone pill which I have had to stop due to horrible side effects increasing my pain and periods, it wasn't working for me. I am now waiting for my GP to talk to the consultant at the hospital for further advice as my GP is less than useless and isn't able to use any of his own medical experience. I am also having to wait for this correspondence to review my pain medication which isn't really working.
I am 35 and very active as a mum of 3, I am really sick if being in pain and not having much help and I am wondering if anyone has found any homeopathic or natural remedies/assistance?
All these chemicals and drugs can't be doing much good. I am mostly gluten free now, which is making a little improvement in my day to day pain however when I have a flair up it isn't great, I have been in tears for the majority of the day in the recent past.
Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is some (but not enough) evidence for reducing inflammation, changing diet and reducing stress. So these are the things I am doing which does seem to work. I work in a stressful job and only experienced severe pain after I started this job, so I am working with support to reduce my stress levels. I work from home one day a week and have a buddy (my manager) to do the most stressful aspect with. I have been using the low fodmap diet as advised in diann shepherd mills book about endometriosis and nutrition listed on the endometriosis UK website. It means reducing my wheat intake especially when I'm in a flare, my diet was already plant-based and well balanced, so not a big change for me. I have also started taking turmeric with piperine as it has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. I don't believe in homeopathy and if it's key effect is placebo (which is a powerful effect) that means it won't work for me, but it might for you. I only take the meds when I need them, just before during and after my period - naproxen with omeprazole, sometimes amitriptyline at night and co-codamol if I absolutely have to because the pain is too much. I eat probiotic, fermented foods like sourdough, live yoghurt and sauerkraut to reactivate my gut biome after the meds have killed it off. Hope that's helpful.
Yes, Dian Shepperson Mills was a game-changer for me too! So grateful for her. I've managed my endo symptoms so much better since reading her book - Endometriosis: A Key to Healing And Fertility Through Nutrition.I take the following supplements religiously and have never looked back - vit C, B complex vit, vit D3 + K2, magnesium malate, omega 3 oils and digestive enzymes
Hi, Sorry to hear about your pain. I had trouble with the mini pill too, and not keen on taking too many pain killers. I have started taking Turmeric supplements and it's made a huge difference. I must admit when I first started them I didn't believe they could have that effect so I stopped taking them for a couple of months.
Those 2 months were really painful so I started taking them again and it's so much better.
It may not work for everyone but might be worth a try. X
I didn't get on with hormone treatment either. I found a combination of diet changes and homeopathy made a big difference to my symptoms. Different things work for different people, but taking out wheat, sugar, caffeine and alcohol really helped me.
