Hi, I have just had my first gyno appointment. He did the internal examinations and went through symptoms, and how long I have been suffering etc. he asked if I had ever heard of endometriosis and has said that I have got to have an internal ultra sound to rule out anything else before he can do a laparoscopy, but has given me all of the information on the laparoscopy to take home with me. Hopefully this is a good step forward. Is anyone else in the same position or can I ask what your experiences have been?

Hi Kay92jay
It sounds like the appointment went well and you have a clear way forwards with regards to diagnosis if you are suffering from endometriosis. If you need any further information on diagnosing endometriosis and undergoing a laparoscopy, there are some useful documents on our website. You can find them at endometriosis-uk.org/gettin... and at endometriosis-uk.org/your-l...
Very best of luck with any forthcoming procedures and please do post back on here if you have any further questions x
Thank you so much for your reply, yes I was quite shocked. I have been suffering with terrible periods since I was 12, which was when I first went to the doctors and they put me on the pill at 14. I’ve had different pills, injections etc. but the last three years I’ve gone down hill, no energy, started to have pain all the time not only when it comes to time of the month, and it’s got that bad it’s in my legs, I had to go into accident and emergency in April as I didn’t feel like I could stand, my legs were shaking whilst I was trying to. Once I have further information I’ll report back, thank you again x
