Hi. I was there for a couple of hours. They do height, weight, blood pressure. I was taken through consent form and met one of the consultants. They take blood for testing and checking not pregnant. I saw two nurses, both took blood which apparently is protocol. Asked questions about any previous surgeries. Then I was seen by a ward doctor who felt abdomen, blood pressure again and asked if I had any questions. I think they also did a urine test for pregnancy. I also received stuff for surgery prep eg a solution to drink the day before for helping with recovery and an enema. Hope this helps. X
Never heard of the recovery drink wgsts in it by the way best of luck xx
It’s three sachets of glucose type of drink that I had to drink the day before and morning of my op. I was having hysterectomy though so perhaps not given for every op? I’m in Scotland so might be something done here as they seem to have a big focus on enhanced recovery after surgery (feels more like get you home asap after op and free up a bed!)
Yes it might be different .
Thinking of you stay strong best of luck x
Hey! I was in having mine last week before my lap on Saturday. A few blood tests, questions about general health & family history, urine and blood pressure and blood oxygen
Was in and out in like 45 minutes
Im having my surgery done privately and my pre op is being done over the phone. An hour they said to allow. I have to go in for bloods and a Covid test
