Hi! Sorry, its me again!

Anyone that's had a hysterectomy, how long were you signed off from work? I'm just tying to forward plan (as much as possible!) getting my work covered and arranging childcare for the school run!

Thanks in advance!

Good Morning I am probably in a completely different situation and age group to you but I had a total hysterectomy November last year I am 56 but I was signed off for 12 weeks and did feel like I needed that but maybe that was down to major surgery of everything took out and my age wishing you good luck with the op and a quick recovery 👍🏼👍🏼

I had four weeks off work and a gradual return, mornings for two weeks and no heavy lifting. I work in a reception class so was able to have support of colleagues stop me overdoing it. Good luck, it was the best decision to have my hysterectomy.

Hi. I had total abdominal hysterectomy and endo removal. I was signed off for 3 months. My brain took a long time to kick back in properly and I was back to driving at 9 weeks. Everyone responds differently and it also depends on the type of hysterectomy. Mine was the most invasive but women seem to recover more quickly from laparoscopic.Good luck with your arrangements,

Hi ☺️

I haven’t had one but my cousin was just advised on Friday that she’s required to get one and they said to her 4-6 weeks signed off work and no driving until after week 6 I think she said! xx

I think it depends on many factors, I’m currently 5 weeks post op and not sure I feel ready to drive yet so no work for me, that said I was cut from my belly button to my pubic bone and my surgery was extensive, my friend on the other hand had key hole surgery and was driving again by 3 weeks. If you plan for the worst then if you are feeling better its a bonus. Good luck x
