Enod surgery and pregnancy rates - Endometriosis UK
Hi. I had a laporscopy followed by 9 months of medication that resulted in me falling pregnant around 5/6 months later.. hope that helps.. xx
Thank u all really ensuring all ur story's in my case I have just been diagnosed with adenomyosis while they was treating my endo I'm just worried if effect my chances of having a baby as they was unable to clear the adenomyosis:/
Hi I’ve just replied further down the page but I also saw this comment and all I can add is that my consultant told me that “Adenomyosis does not affect a persons ability to get pregnant” I don’t know if this is the official view from the medical community but this is what I was told during my follow up appointment post surgery xx
Hello. I had my laparoscopy and then got pregnant 2 months after surgery. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Endo. Good luck xx
Hi, I had a laparoscopy and end o was lasered off. I fell pregnant 2 months later, immediately after a failed IVF attempt. Wishing you all the very best xx
Hi, thanks for this message as it helps me too. I'm new to this forum. I've been trying to conceive for 18 months, I'm 34 so starting to freak out about time. I was diagnosed with suspected endo earlier this year when my GP starting looking into why it might be taking a while. The ultrasound revealed large endometrioma cysts on my ovaries. It's been a real shock, and I know I'm lucky because most of my endo symptoms are mild, but it's still scary. Surgery has been delayed for various reasons however, I should be getting it soon. I just really really hope it makes conceiving easier. No one tells you just how hard and draining starting a family can be.
I knkw it was the same for me had endo and cuts trued for nearly 2 years nothing was happening just so sad. I'm hoping somyhimg happens now. But at the same time I was diagnosed with adenomyosis while the surgery I still have tat outside my womb so worried if tat spreads or will.it effect my chance 🤔
Thanks for replying. I think we just have to hope surgery improves things. The other ladies comments a really reassuring. I don't know the extent of my endo yet as I've not had the surgery but I'm hoping all will be well. My surgeon has said I should start trying for a baby post-surgery as soon as I feel well enough. He says there is no real research but quite a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest that women often fall pregnant quite quickly after treatment.
Hi yes I fell pregnant 5 or 6 months after surgery. I wish someone had told me sooner that it still takes time for your body to heal after surgery. Once I found out I was pregnant my consultant told me they expect a 6-12 month wait for a person to get pregnant following surgery. I really hope it happens for you and I wish you a speedy recovery ❤️🩹
When would.u advice I should try agin wait after 6 month or try soon?
Well if you can start trying then I don’t think it’ll do any harm, I personally started a month after surgery. I guess it’s up to your personal circumstances and everything.I would add that I found sex very painful for 3 months post surgery (because of where they cut out the Endo) so my body was clearly still healing and I just didn’t listen to it!
So maybe start trying when you feel ready because I think it’s different for everyone xx
Thanks for sharing your experience this thread is really helpful for me too. And reassuring! I'm hopefully getting surgery in the next month and have been advise to start trying again as soon as I feel well enough. I hope it helps
My gynae told me we could start trying as soon as we were comfortable after the lap. Even though internally it takes up to 6 months to heal she said it wasn't unsafe in anyway to start as the next 6 - 12 months would be a good time as they usually run a dye through your fallopian tubes at the same time as the lap. x
Hi I had my lap in July and had stage 4 and adenomyosis too. I have fallen pregnant on my second month of trying x
Wow tat Is amazing good yo know is it ur frist pregnancy? And was ur endo with cysts aswel? Also how long after the lap did u get ur periods? And I have adenomyosis too and he couldn't get rid of tat he said as there is no cure for it. Mine back of my womb
Yes it's my first pregnancy sand it's very early on so I'm hoping I have no complications. Yes I had a cyst on my left side which they couldn't full remove but ablated to preserve the ovary. I got my period on time after my lap, think it was all pretty much to schedule. Yes they can't remove the adenomyosis think you just need to not leave it too late as it gets worse as you get older. x
