Hi, just wondering if anyone has been told they have a thickened lining of the womb? I have been told this after an ultrasound. I already have been diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago. I have been advised for the thickened womb lining, I need a biopsy.. has anyone had this on their womb? I am being very hesitant to have it and feel a little anxious about it.. can anyone share their experience? Thanks in advance

Hi I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. I had a biopsy done last year and they said I had a very thickened endometrium. Everything was ok though. I then had to go for another scan just few weeks ago and good news is that the lining was now very thin. I’m still waiting on further investigation but hope this helps you somewhat. I’ve had endometriosis for more than 20 years. I’m now post menopausal and have abnormal uterine bleeding

Thank you for your reply and hope you are doing okay? Sounds like you have had a difficult time. Was the procedure okay and did you have any pain or issues after?

Last summer I had severe bleeding for 7 weeks. I needed to get the biopsy done under GA because of my thickened endometrium. I was a wee bit sore afterwards. I’m just waiting to get further checks to see what caused my bleeding. Ive got a lot of abdominal swelling and pelvic pains

I was told this also and had the biopsy done, was told no cancer and don’t have endometriosis but for me this was the beginning of the worst time of my life, two weeks later was bleeding only then to be told I have menorrigha. Heavy periods. Fast forward a few years of suffering going back and forth to doctors, A&E I wrote a letter of complaint. Transferred from one hospital to another and they found I have a large fibroid in the neck of my cervix. I feel 💯 let down. Only do the procedure if it’s a 💯 necessary and bare in mind ultrasound does not detect fibroid in neck of cervix.
