Endo fatigue? So tired :(

Does endo cause generalised fatigue? Does anyone else feel absolutely exhausted for no reason? I am so tired every day from mid-afternoon onwards. Even when I sleep for 10 hours, I have no energy and need to go to bed really early.

My doctor has checked my iron levels etc and they are apparently normal. She said there is nothing in my bloods that would explain the tiredness.

Has anyone found anything that helps to boost your energy? Any strategies for coping with the fatigue? Any helpful supplements?

Thanks :)

Hey! This was so hard for me to deal with, I’d physically ache from fatigue in the afternoons at work! I don’t have great endo-specific advice but I’ve always sworn by using my diet to boost my energy. Eating little and often, nutritious food, especially in the late afternoon and try to avoid caffeine if you can. Also getting fresh air and sunlight during the day. You could try vitamin d supplements if you’re not already taking some. Apologies if this is stating the obvious, I just know how horrible it is feeling so tired! I hope this helps x

Hi,. I've had endometriosis since 2015 and yes it does cause serious fatigue. Also if you are on prescribed pain management tablets this can also make you feel.drowsy and tired the best of times so just listen to your body and just relax and sleep if you have to!

I take multivitamins to help with this and oats and weetabix for breakfast which has alot of fibre and is generally good for people with endo as it helps with the inflammation.

Hi! it's normal, it was hard for me to deal with it cause it interrupts everything but my gyno said it's normal. he suggested me to find a hobbie and avoid stress and that might help. I've been having sleep disorder due to the tiredness and i would sleep all day and still feel bad so i wake up in the middle of the night not knowing what to do, i take meds to sleep again but i can wake up in 3 hours. For women with pour condition it's hard but we can change our diet and do exercise , that helps a lot and i hope this info help you

Hey hun, I felt really bad to hear you. For a few years I dealt with extreme tiredness. I had to have naps as soon as I saw my bed. If I sleep less than 8 hours I feel emotional and tired. If I sleep for 11 hours or more I feel just as bad. Past few months I have dealt with widespread pain in my whole body. No sign of redness or swelling, had my blood taken twice in 3 months. All normal Aside for ferritin but on medication for that and these symptoms are better hair loss mainly. But iron levels are normal. Sometimes I have to drag myself 2 food from my bed to my desk to do uni work. I feel emotional. I got work experience for uni next week. I got to travel 2 hours by 2 buses and I really don't feel well but I have no choice. I'm in bed now my whole body hurts. A bath is run for me. I feel like I will fall to sleep in the bath. Any similar stories I appreciate! Ah I will add the doctor said he can't find any reason for it but told me to wait until it gets worse or new symptoms xxx......

For me the fatigue increase as my disease progressed. My doc said my body is fatigued as a result of my muscles and tendons being clenched from pain. More pain equals more exhaustion. I’m sure that part of it but it’s also the hormone levels and other issues as well. I do have great energy days and that’s when I get a lot done. I moved paver stones yesterday and pruned an old shrub. On fatigue days I’m lucky I can get off the couch. So I’m not sure how helpful this is as I’m still trying to cope myself but so far my main coping technique seems to be getting as much done on high energy days (which are few). And allowing myself to relax on fatigue days. Like not worrying about fixing dinner. Ordering food etc . Take care
