Surgery went well today!

Hi Ladies

Had my full hysterectomy this afternoon with removal of ovaries, Dr came to see and said all went well and good job it’s all come out my uterus was large and bulky from the adenomyosis.

Getting plenty of rest and pain relief X

Thanks Moon yes all went well was down there longer than expected but at least it’s all done now, taking me forever to try and eat a quarter of a sandwich 🤣🤣🤣 morphine is my best friend right now ❤️

Yeh it came back a bit this morning not bad in a lot of pain waiting for more pain relief to come 🙁 very tired didn’t sleep well at all but to be expected xx

I didn’t sleep at all first night, watched Amazon movies 🤣 They ghost the pain nurse to see me and I had I think 10ml every couple of hours for four doses. If you aren’t getting enough relief do ask them for more.

Hope you get some sleep today. 🙂

Second night I didn’t wake until around 10am, dr said he’d been twice and still asleep.

Yeh I was in and out of sleep listening to the rain🤣 yeh I have asked for more they just need to give it me asked a few times now.

That’s my plan so tired falling asleep sat up ah let’s hope I get a proper night sleep then tonight x

Just had some and catheter has come out 🥳 tried a bit of panini but not very hungry if I’m being honest, did you have much appetite? Going to try and get some sleep now x

Unless korma you can keep that one😂, saying that Ive had my meal for the day, but likely pick later depending on how things go.Is it a big ward? Mine was a long room, probably about 12-15 beds. The hospital is quite old, they are currently building a new one.

Has it quietened down a bit now?

It was chicken tikka masala only ate a bit but was nice ☺️ yeh quite big all private rooms very nice all been done up, pain seems to be on and off morphine is great when I get it just so tired but can’t sleep much as feel bloated due to gas and pain 🙈🙁

Maybe they’ll have something to help you sleep. Rest is so needed, it’s still hard to comprehend what they’ve done. Have you seen the consultant?

Just shows the difference doesn’t it and yeh he said I was riddled with it but all gone now he said my uterus was big and bulky from the adenomyosis so sent off to be tested as he thinks this was causing me 90% of my pain x

Yes he was happy about it too ☺️ on and off better than the night before slept from 12-3 ish then had morphine then back to sleep till half 6 when they woke me up, just got changed into pjs and back in fresh bed knackered already 🤣 did you feel like this moon? Xx

That’s great he’s happy with the way it went 😀👍The first time I went for a walk up and down the garden was about five days. Day after couldn’t move much at all, second day felt better for sleep and more myself, I realised I hadn’t even brushed my hair 😂

🤣 it’s all been a blur I’ve done a flight of stairs this morning physio was impressed now I’m in bed again sore and tired but grumpy 🤣 asked them all to leave me for a bit, bet they think I’m being stroppy but I just need 5 mins to my self, waiting for dr to come see me in a bit all being well there sending me home later.

How are you now moon sorry forgot to ask? X

You’ve done well 😀, now you’ve said that I did go for a walk down the ward with a nurse, can’t remember if first or second day.I don’t think they’ll think that, they’ll have seen much worse 🙂

Well Dr has been and said he’s happy for me to go home this afternoon ☺️ it’s snowing here quite heavily so be home sooner rather than later, glad your alright also, suffering with pain and bloating today all the gas they pump into you isn’t it x

Wouldn’t be the worst place to get stuck 🤣 doesn’t feel like a hospital, I know my stomach is 3x bigger than it normally is feeling large today 🤣

Wonder if it’s happened that patients couldn’t get home 😂I think the swelling is standard side effect, unfortunately.

Hi not been too well, I am going to ask to be referred so I can get a hysterectomy. Did you get the option to keep your ovaries in? So pleased for you, I bet it’s a relief xx

Hi yes we spoke the other day and you weren’t to good then, yes he asked me but said I would probably have to have them out few years later anyway as they can cause pain so had everything out ☺️ feeling so relieved ❤️ you think you want to keep your ovaries? Xx

Yes I remember 💗how you feeling this afternoon? You know the only reason I want to keep ovaries is because of the menopause.

I had 2 consultants say they would take the whole lot out and 1 who said she would leave my ovaries in if I wanted.

Will you go straight into menopause? X

☺️ just in pain at the moment waiting on morphine so will have a sleep when I’ve got that 🤞 yeh I think it’s your choice I’ve been on zoladex so been in medical menopause for 6 months already on hrt.

How old are you? I’m 27 x

You are so lucky you had your done with. I’m still waiting due to Covid dilemma. Every hospital must be different. I’m so pleased for you. To have proper healing! Definitely need to follow the instructions of resting. X

I’m very lucky I’ve seen so many post on here there’s has been cancelled due to covid, think it all depends on hospitals etc I’m in a private one and nurse said more nhs patients are here than private.

This is excellent! I hope recovery is still going well and hopefully you are almost pain free my uterus was bulky and pushing jnto my bladder it was not nice at all the difference now... no waking up for a wee every half an hour actually get sleep 🤣 stillnot in a sleep routine because my body is like whooooaa what is this 🤣 2 hours feels like 10 take it easy x
