Do I have endo and should I do anything about it?

I'm only 17 but since my first period (13 years old) I have had unbearable pain: feeling faint and nauseous, leg pain, back pain, stomach pain, heavy bleeding, pain after abdominal exercises like crunches etc. The pain was terrible (in my opinion), needing 2 hot water bottles, painkillers not touching it, on the floor moaning and crying, being unable to go to school or do anything for a week every month, ie, it really affected me. Maybe I just have low pain tolerance or something but around 2 years ago I went to the GP who put me on microgynon with a 4 day break which made the pain worse and I ended up with a slip for hospital admittance for appendicitus on holiday in Germany. I went back and another GP suggested I have endo as a passing comment and put me on cerelle which I take every day with no breaks and for a year it was wonderful! I had 3 weeks of pain at the beginning then I forgot about ever having a period because I never had one! Until recently, ive been bleeding and having some cramping after intense abdominal exercises and about once every 2 months I have minimal bleeding with moderate pain in the stomach, legs and back again. I am not sure if I even have endo but Im unsure what else it could be, and Im not sure if I should go back to the GPs again and ask for something else, this pill has been great so far but with every mild bleed I have the pain is getting more painful every time. What should I do?

Hi if the pain is coming back you should go back to the doctor as sometimes when you're on medication for a while you're body can become immune to it can't do any harm to get it checked

Go back to your Dr and explain what's happening....... there are other types of pill that they could try you on.Start writing a symptom diary You'll soon work out if it's endo if things go in sync with your cycle.....it's so easy to forget one month to the next You might be quite surprised with what does go in sync and make connections with things you might not have thought about

A symptom diary makes so much sense I shall definitely start one, thank you for the help

I suspected I had endometriosis since I was a teenager. Like you I was out on the pill. I went to lots of doctors and was fobbed off. Finally got laparoscopy at 41 and it’s been confirmed and is quite extensive. I would insist on getting a laparoscopy as it’s the only way to know for sure if you have it. I’m sorry you’re going through this x

Wow I'm so sorry you weren't taken seriously, I'll definitely take your advice, once I'm 18 I think I'll try to get a laparoscopy thank you for the reply

Nobody would ever diagnose you online, Doctor or not!Your reproduction system and digestive system is tucked away in a really small space. What I hope that whatever is wrong with you, that it can be dealt with! Endometriosis can be a tough disease to have.Go back to the GP!Take somebody with you and embellish if you have to!

Make and keep Notes!

At the moment everything has really slowed down. So you need to see a Consultant to get a correct Diagnosis.

Very true! Yes I'm not looking for a diagnosis online but I also know that only a surgery can diagnose endo which is a bit tricky. Thank you I hope I find out what's wrong too! Having someone with me at the GPs sounds like a good idea, thank you for your advice
