Hey, it is meant to help. My dietician advised cutting it out for a month then reintroducing small amounts to see what you can tolerate. One by one, say one piece of toast, see how it affects you on the day and the next day. Then wait a day to clear your system and try a small amount of something else. Continue with the process. A lot of women with endo have issues with wheat, dairy, flax seed, soya (a nutritionist said soya from protein is fine) and red meat. In my case I can eat cheese but all other dairy is an issue. Hopefully through cutting it out and reintroducing gradually you find what you can tolerate. Xx

Thank you I am on week one so far and finding it challenging I never do well with diets of any sort but am trying at this! Did re- introducing the foods that had a negative effect have an effect straight away? Xx thanks

I noticed straight away with wheat, flax seed and soya. I can only tolerate very small amounts of wheat. I've always had an issue with yoghurt and milk so didn't try reintroduce those. Can't tolerate soya or flaxseed at all. Sometimes I still feel the effects of these the next day depending on what I've eaten.

I suppose it all depends on whether you love these foods and this outweighs the effect of the food on you. I got fed up of being in pain daily and bloated etc. So decided to stop eating it.

You will only know the true impact of cutting it out once its been a few weeks at least. See if it makes enough of a difference xx

I tried cutting out dairy and it worked for pain (but not heaviness of bleeding etc as expected) so for that reason I didn’t continue it. Definitely worth trying to see if it helps though.

Do you take Tranexamic acid for the bleeding?

No not been prescribed anything. Just been told to take iron tablets xx

Worth discussing Tranexamic acid with a GP you trust as it's very effective for heavy periods.

Yes !!! Yes!!! Yes!!!!

I also found it really really hard... I would suggest cut out one thing at a time, dont do it all at once cos it will make you feel miserable otherwise.

Try either Dairy or wheat first.. not both straight away, in my experience so it doesnt put you off completely..

Also on the meat front you could try organic meat.. and grass fed (not corn fed) every now and then to let you have a treat and decent meal...

The secret I found was to not do it completely cos you need some joy in your life..

Message me if it helps, I am in the journey too xx

Thanks for that it is miserable cutting everything out at once isn’t it!

I think I’m used to the oat in my tea so it may be so able.

And Philadelphia dairy free tastes the same! Gluten free crackers are not too bad I just live off that. With some veg

Thank you for your reply. Xx

What do you mean you are weak?are you finding it hard it is hard to begin but very beneficial but really you can't cut everything out instantly unless you have the stamina for it you will drop weight like flies my endo diet was very dramatic from the start lost loads of weight I've adapted mine slightly now so I have bread once in a while don't like gluten free bread and saw not much benefit changing now and again is ok cheese now and again ok stick to dark chocolate I don't eat meat any more hate meat now what is it your struggling with as you don't want your body to be weak you still need essential nutrients

I mean I have no will power haha! I’m trying though!

I’m struggling with the caffeine as I am so tired all of the time I usually have 10+ cups of tea a day. I’m cutting down to about 6. With oat milk

I’m finding it difficult to plan meals for the week as I cook for my husband my fussy 3 year old and my 16. Months old. Basically no ones willing to eat any. None meat foods! I’m finding that stressful. So I’m planning easy meals for myself such as salads with chicken Veggies curry’s etc.

Thanks for your reply xx

I have 3 children so I totally get that!they eat separate but honestly cutting down caffeine is a good one I've felt loads better since changing to herbal and oat milk?Remember the pats aren't gluten free oats In that milk unless stated but if your body handles it it's ok have you tried other teas like peppermint or lemon and ginger ?you can still eat meat but I suggest organic meat I just went off it totally do you add beans and pulses into your meals this has really helped me with balance as I wasn't getting enough protein it's about trying the right balance.are you on Instagram there are some great vegan cooks on their a lot which is endo sufferes can eat i feel like I've opened a new door with food since trying new things more there are also other vegetables which you might not consider which are beneficial like yams and plantains in some local food shops not sure what food shops you have in your area these are foreign foods but very healthy

Brilliant advice thanks who should I follow on Instagram?

I am on week three now of cuttingout dairy gluten and red meat

Ive accidentally had dairy a couple of times a few of the dark chocolate‘s I bought contained milk I thought they didn’t oops!

Please tell me I don’t have to start the whole process again because I messed up?

I haven’t really seen any benefit with endometriosis pain

I also have bad eczema that nothing has ever helped that has improved since doing the diet which is interesting!

How long do you think you need to be doing it for before you see a difference in the pain

Zi usually start getting pain about 19 days before my period and then for 7 to 10 days afterwards and then repeat (fun)

Thanks xx
