Dizzy / faint feeling

Hello,

I have really heavy periods, especially days 1 and 2 of my period.

I've noticed the last 4 months that by day 4 I feel so dizzy, shaky and faint. To the point where I feel sick. I've now had a head ache for 2 days too.

Does anyone else have this? Is it due to my heavy periods? Where I've had 2 heavy days and then it all catches up on me?

I brought some iron supplements at the pharmacy as a blood test showed my iron was on the slightly low side.

Thanks

With my endo I have suffered very heavy periods to the point I was dizzy- it made me anaemic. Have you had your iron checked to make sure you are not anaemic? If not I’d ask the dr to check. Once I was on the ferrous sulphate ( iron) I felt heaps better on my periods. They can give meds to reduce flow- I took transexamacid when I was trying for a bday. I hope you get it sorted out soon xxx

Hi Jess

Thank you for replying.

Blood test showed iron was slightly low so they just told me to get a supplement over the counter. They gave me one that was quite easy on the body as said iron supplements can make you poorly.

I've noticed a pattern that my heavy days are 1 and 2 and 4 and 5 I feel so ill, migraine type head ache, whole body feels shaky and trembley. Nothing helps, even eating / drinking.

They do think my endo is back after 4 years. They won't put me on the transexamacid due to a previous PE on the lung. :(

Xx

Have you considered seeing a Naturopathic doctor? They read test results much differently and can help support you more effectively. Acupuncture can also be beneficial

Best wishes

Have you been checked for adenomyosis? It’s endos evil twin sister. It’s basically Endo that grows in the uterus muscle lining. There’s no way to remove it without a hysterectomy. They can see how thick your uterus is on an MRI or a highly skilled physician on ultrasound. It typically is what causes heavy bleeding rather than endo. Are you on any type of contraceptive? You know you can do the pill back to back so you don’t have to have a period right? I haven’t had one in over 3 years. I have had to switch to a mirena iud because I have thrombocytosis (blood clotting disorder) because the pill increases your chance of blood clots. You don’t have to suffer! It doesn't mess with your fertility either.
