After being cancelled four times for laparoscopy surgery on the NHS I have just received a new date.
Has anyone else been through this? (Cancelled so many times)
I’m a bit nervous as I am an admission but I am hoping that the removal of the ACUM (rare but hopefully benign tumour on my ovary causing havoc with my cycle) will stop the pain and the constant periods and fatigue and give me my like back.
Have people had positive success with surgery?

I wish I knew about this app earlier I have been suffering alone for a long time and while I know my condition is not the same it’s a similar experience.

That's great news and I really hope they dont cancel again. Do you mind if I ask what county you are as I've been waiting since early march for a laparoscopy date and even looked into going private but hertfordshire nhs and private clinics aren't performing any elective surgeries and my gynae said it could be another 2-3 months wait.
I have been waiting for surgery for a year and been cancelled four times. I’m in central London. I hope that even with the covid delay you are seen sooner and have a more straight forward process. Good luck 😊
I have had 4 cancellations since I was diagnosed via ultrasound in January. Left ovary has a cyst 'up to 19cm' and smaller cysts on the right, which a private scan showed is now behind my uterus. Suspected blood filled tube. I am in constant pain, want to have children and yet am not even allowed to freeze my eggs until post op (whenever that is). Two times they changed the date of the surgery, then cancelled on me when I was already in my gown and had signed all the paperwork on the ward. Even being admitted as an emergency did not lead people to operate. I am pretty low about all of this right now and not sure how long they expect me to wait. It is actually hugely disappointment and disheartening, especially as I was told what an emergency it was and both my pain and my quality of life have got progressively worse over the last few months, to the point I am now effectively in bed most of the time. I hope you have better luck than I have had.

You have my empathy, if it’s not to much information do you mind if I ask which hospital you have been dealing with?

I'm not sure I am actually 'allowed' to say, and unfortunately my poor experience extends to a couple of different hospitals. Absolutely appalling.
