Hi, I am brand new to this. I haven’t had confirmation of endometriosis and my appointment with a specialist has been cancelled due to recent circumstances. However I have done all my research and I will be extremely shocked if it isn’t. My GP seems pretty convinced too. I have tried ibuprofen, paracetamol, nurofen, codeine and buscopan. I was in hospital last month for it as the pain is so severe and the only thing that stopped it is oramorph (something I really don’t want or like to take!).The past 2 days I have been in agony with 2 hours of solid crying out on the kitchen floor today. Is there anything anyone can recommend that might help just until I finally get my appointment again!

Just had a thought Buscopan is taken by people who have medically confirmed IBS, why is your GP giving you that if they think you have Endo? I will be interested to find out what they say, please let us know.
I asked that when she prescribed me it. She said that it is used for IBS because it works by relieving cramping symptoms which is common in IBS. Due to Endo being linked to periods it could possibly relieve period pain. It hasn’t touched it in my case but not sure if anyone else had used it.
So sorry you’re having these issues, fully understand.
As has been said talk to your GP, they have a service and will even see you if need be. I’ve got an appointment next week.
Have you tried a combination of pain relief or just one at a time? The pill can help some people.
Have a look at NICE guidelines, there is information about the different pills on a separate document. I was taking a good look yesterday.
It sounds like you have a great GP, a rare find for this, and they want to help. Unfortunately GP’s aren’t proactive and you have to keep asking. It’s very much a downfall of this condition.
Yeah last I spoke to the GP she prescribed the buscopan and said after that she wasn’t clear what they could prescribe. However I am going to ring again tomorrow anyway.
I have been on contraception for 13 years and never had this pain. I’ve come off it because me and my husband are trying for a baby. Then this has happened. Just irritating that I can’t get an appointment with the hospital for a while. However I fully appreciate it isn’t urgent compared to what is happening in the world right now.
Ask about omeprazole, I think it’s different to buscopan but could be wrong.
I hope you manage to get this sorted as quickly as possible, stress the situation and plans as much as possible, pushing can sometimes make a difference. It’s a pain though.
Current stuff doesn’t help and I know it’s delaying certain things, but your welfare is still important.

I was prescribed mefenamic acid, once it kicks in it really works for me..its honestly the best thing I've tried
Hi Sarah. Like you I’m in the same position that i haven’t been diagnosed but my consultant is pretty positive I have endo and I was due diagnostic lap in June but due to current circumstances it has been cancelled. What I can highly recommend to you and anyone who has endo is to change your diet! I follow a vegan diet and have been for almost 1 year and it has made such a big difference to my pain. An anti inflammatory diet is the best to maintain when having endo as it causes less flare ups as dairy and meat etc can actually cause inflammation, it’s the worst for endo sufferers!
Since changing my diet I have noticed my pain is less frequent and less painful. I know it’s hard dealing with this and there’s so many days where you want to give up but please keep fighting and staying strong. You are not alone and can do this. Also take milk thistle vitamins they clean out the liver which is where toxins related to pain lie. I hope this helps and if you have any questions please let me know! Stay safe hun x
