Still bleeding on norethisterone

Hi ladies so last week I've had spotting for 5 days and heavy bleeding on tuesday and it's still bleeding today I'm still taking norethisterone as prescribed as I been on norethisterone for 3.6 months due to my gyne putting me on it till my operation date for endometrial alabeberation sorry dunnk how to spell it but I've been having this bleeding for days now not sure what it is and I've also passed decidual casts on tueday only! The bleeding is not heavy as such what could this be and is this normal with taking norethisterone? How long does it last as I'm still taking the tablets daily it feel to me like a mini period but not sure tbh

It’s awful, I’ve been there too.

It only stopped when my consultant decided to up my dose.

I noticed that whilst on various different hormones, after a while my body no longer reacted to them and they no longer worked well. Also if you’re stressed it has that effect too.

Try and rest, don’t lift anything heavy and check if you can increase the dose with your consultant.

Ive been wanting to actually up the dose to 4 or 5 a day to see if it stop it as I've only been taking the usual 3 a day but it isnt stopping it but making the bleeding lighter from pink to red sometimes then white discharge during the day with blood in it then it goes back to the usual pink and red it's like a constant mind changer it doesnt know what to do ....I wa stold to keep taking the norethisterone whiles this happening also but I think 3 isnt stopping it

Also how long was u on it for? Did u pass decidual casts and heavy bleeding? As I started spotting last week after intercourse with my partner and the spotting lasted 5 days then it went heavier instantly the next day with decidual casts then from weds till now it's just been different types of bleeding but no decidual casts but nasty period cramps and I've not even come off the norethisterone so it cannot be a withdrawal bleed or period :/

Hi Lone Wolf,

Thanks for posting this and discussing what was going on.

I'm just having this problem although with endometriosis and norithesterone and hope it will be resolved soonish.

It's common I got told with norethisterone especially if taken for months back 2 back but I've had bleeding for 20 days but atm its seems to be going away but its uncharted waters atm so I got no idea what's going to happen
