Hello ladies,

I have a few questions. Hopefully someone can help, any advice or tips would be great! I had my first surgery approx two months ago which found minimal endo. But since then I think about six weeks. I have had a leaky bladder, I have never had that before. I'm 25, never had kids. I mean it's not like I'm having to wear incontinence pants. But I have started needing to wear pantie liners but it's not been enough even with two (goes through my leggings- sorry tmi), so I will try proper pads now. I just wondered is this normal? I did have two UTIs in the five months, and I keep feeling I have another one but Then it goes. But I keep getting a lot of bladder pain. Also they did use a catheter overnight after my surgery. I dint know how much urine you lose with a normal leaky bladder.

Another thing I wanted to ask is to do with hormones. After the surgery, my pill was changed due to major retrograde bleeding and to help with endo. But I'm having what i think are side effects. I keep getting headaches that are in my whole head and my whole FACE too (jaw, eyes, nose, cheeks), they are very bad and can last for about 36-48 hours. Painkillers dont help. I also am having a lot of nausea, with the headaches and at other times too. It is becoming a bit much on top of my endo pain. I can't really concentrate or hide it, people are noticing, I'm not myself. Has anyone else had any of this? Is it normal? Will it pass? Any tips?

Thank you all again! I really appreciate ANY advice or personal experiences! Lots of love ๐Ÿ’› X X X

Hello. Not sure about the leaky bladder, Hopefully someone else will help you with that.

However, your headaches sound sadly familiar. I was diagnosed with migraines and they were also affecting my whole head and often made me sick too. I had migraine meds (sumatriptans) prescribed and this helped. I think it was another way for my body to express the pain of endo. There was also a hormonal cause but I was not on the pill.

I would recommend going back to your doctor and see if they diagnose migraines? Then you can decide what to do with your meds. Good luck with everything.

Hi thank you so so much for your reply! It's really helpful. I have booked to go back to my gp on Tuesday and I will ask about it all. I will mention what you have said. Interesting that you had very similar but yet it wasn't the pill. I think you are right about the pain being expressed in a different way by our bodies. Hopefully can get some more help its so hard to be in constant pain. And I just don't want anything else wrong with me!! Were you r migraines in your face too? Thank you again!

Hi,

I had lots of bladder symptoms after my lap in May. . I wasn't leaking, but did feel I needed to go all the time and then just passing dribbles. I had lots of bladder pain . It was all new symptoms for me.

My urine was clear with no signs of infection.

Though I still managed to get antibiotics which really helped. . Maybe there was some infection that didn't show up in standard tests.

Anyway overall, the bladder and urine symptoms eventually settled down.

But like you, I was very worried and thought my bladder got damaged at surgery. .

I don't have the answers really except to say, it all settled down in time for me. .

I drank lots of fluids as well to flush it e'll out amd got a powder called cystopurin from the pharmacy.

I hope your symptoms settle down too in time.

Best of luck.๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for your reply!!! Very helpful! Glad not to be alone. Can I ask how long it took approx for your symptoms to settle? I am just starting to be more concerned now as its been two months but I know that it does take a long time for things to settle! It's hard to be patient! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you again!! ๐Ÿ’› X X X X

Hi .

No problem. .My bladder symptoms started to get really bad six weeks after surgery. . They flared up and down for another two months. . I suppose it was four months before I saw definite improvement. .

I was really worried. . I thought my pelvic floor was damaged and bladder etc. . I saw a pelvic physio as well on the nhs but really she tested my pelvic floor and it was very strong. .

It might be worth asking to see a pelvic physio as well I suppose.

It took me six months to recover from surgery in general and for my belly to stop bloating like a pregnant woman. .

I found this forum so helpful as I got lots of advice and encouragement

Thank you so much that really helps and explains a lot. I think I just expected to be back to normal completely after two weeks, ๐Ÿ˜‚, but it is true it must take a while for it all to settle. I am going to my doctor Tuesday so will check for uti etc. but I will have to be patient! You are right about this forum, I can't believe how much it helps! ๐Ÿ’› X X X X X
