Hi, I had that so I started having prune juice and some vitamin e, super K, curcumin, grape seed extract, omega 3 and coq10 in the morning and potassium and osteocare liquid which has calcium, magnesium vitamin d n zinc at night. Try to walk as much as u can in the house and rest as much as u can. This helped me a lot. Also try to keep ur mind occupied watching anything that makes u feel calm. I tried reading but kept sleeping after half a page which also helps to keep u Relaxed. Also try not to each too much fibre and fruits n veg helped me with mild foods ... anything like sweet potatoes with chicken or any veggies.

Cut out tomatoes, eggs and fish from diet for few months cos this doesn’t help with internal healing.

I hope this helps

I also found that castor oil packs work wonders... I did it for one hour everyday but not applying it on the incisions. I usually put a big bin bag on the bed and put a thin towel soaked in warm castor oil and lying on it for an hour.

I hope this helps. I wish u well with ur recovery hun.🙏💗

Thank you for your reply. I am taking a lot of vitamins and have been taken them before surgery. Would you say these pains are from the laparoscopy. As I used to have pain prior to my lap except the pain was when I needed to go toilet and then it would subside after i have finished but now its after i finish i get pain.

Yes they did separate the adhesions. I had a lot of work done. It’s been 2 months and I’m still swollen a bit but I can move around and the pain is as an when. As far as I know also from previous op it took abt 6 months for my internal swelling to go down. But everyone is different....

How r u doing today?

I was diagnosed with endo in 2005! I had a mirena put in for 4 years and after that I had no problem until the ivf.

Well a lot of people I know started having problems when they did eat those foods after an operation. But again, everyone is different but I prefer to be safe after what I’ve learnt from others

I was diagnosed with endometriosis September 2018 after collapsing in the street with severe lower back pain and pelvis pain. I was then told I had a cyst stuck behind my uterus from a scan which was the cause of the throbbing pain in my uterus. I then had scans every 3 months to keep an eye on it, and was then told I had two more cyst in my left ovary. I then had a MRI and it appeared I had endometrioma in my bowel too.

My lap was an excision of the cyst, endo was taken from the tube and he also cut out two dots of endo in my bowel. I am waiting for my follow up in november 12th.

I dont like tomatoes, and hardly eat fish or egg.

This was nothing compared to my last flare up under a gynae specialist, where they over dosed me in morphine which caused me to have a cardiac arrest outside the hospital at the age of 29. Luckily I came through in resus. After that incident in march I discharged myself from the gynae specialist and referred myself to a bsge centre. Where I feel much more at ease and get my questions answered unlike the gynae specialist where I was left with unanswered questions because their answer was mainly we still do not know how endo exist. Since being with a bsge centre i havent had to go into A&E nor is any of my flare up worse enough for me to be admitted. It is well managed under a endo specialist.

I just started my first period after laparoscopy, so far its flowing well. Have lower back pain but I guess it's due to the period.

It is a very difficult diagnosis to live with, but I wish all us ladies nothing but faith and be inspired by other endo sisters to get through each and every flare up that comes our way to make us become more stronger from the last. x

I have had pain when emptying my bowel for many years. This is mainly due to me having rectal bleeding. The pain does not stop until my bowel is fully emptied. I lose clots of blood, it has been like having a period from my bowel.

Is there nothing the doctors can do? I know I have endometrioma in my bowel and waiting to have surgery.

What operation are you having on your bowel ?

BrightLights88 in reply to ourmolly

I have endometrioma in my bowel and its pushed my bowel to the right, so they need to remove the endometrioma from the bowel so it can go back in its place. if I leave it untreated he said it will eventually leak into my liver as it's so close to the liver tubes on the right. I get agonising pain when I'm on my period in my lower spine and bowel but that's the only time I feel a lot of pain, but since my lap in August i been grt more pain in my bowel and lower back.

They cannot operate on my bowel because the lining of my bowel is very thin. I also have a rectal ulcer.

oh no,so how are you trying to get by with the constant pain?

I have been on strong pain killers for nearly 30 years for severe back problems. I was even prepared to have a Colostomy bag to try and stop my bowel issue, but they said I could not have a bowel operation due to the lining of my bowel being too thin, as I could bleed to death having the operation. So I have just had to put up with the pain and bleeding with clots.

Yes, this happens to me. In my case it’s likely nerve pain, though I haven’t been able to get a laparoscopy to know exactly why.

For some reason, a quercetin supplement has helped me a lot (I’m currently taking Ortho Molecular D-Hist, which also has some anti-histamine properties). Quercetin is an antioxidant and has some anti-inflammatory effects. It was recommended by a naturopath and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how much it helps take the edge off the sharp pain.

Do your best to avoid constipation - it can be really difficult sometimes. I find that plain yogurt also helps me due to the probiotics.

I am currently having a endo flare up attack started a week ago and opening my bowel and bladder is so painful. I had a course of antibiotics but its still there. I am currently constipated due to having pain relief for the flare up. My specialist has said any pain in opening bowel or emptying bladder means its a UTI or bladder infection. Hence why i had the antibiotics it helped but then i started my flare up pain so it hasn't helped much at the moment.

Pain can indicate an infection but it could also be something like interstitial cystitis, which acts like a UTI but isn’t. I’d try to get a second opinion if you can, or at least get your provider to do a urine culture if they’re so convinced it’s a UTI.

It’s rough that your pain meds are causing constipation. I’d recommend asking your doctor what methods of treating it are safe for you. My wife is a US-trained GP/osteopath and she takes constipation seriously as it can make pain so much worse. There are some osteopathic techniques that can help loosen up the gastrointestinal system, or stool softeners, fiber, prune juice, or enemas can assist if you’ve been stopped up more than three days.

Thank you. Yes after my first lap I was leaving the toilet with severe pain in my bladder and bowel but I took it as my body getting back into recovery, on my 3month follow up my specialist done a urine test and said i had a bladder infection. Which cleared up after I took the antibiotics.

4months later the pain came back and on my 6months check up he done a urine test and said i had a UTI after giving him a sample of urine.

It feels like it has cleared up, but because I am currently going through a endometriosis flare up attack the pain in my uterus gets very bad, even trying to sit in the toilet. I would normally be able to hack 4 days of pain till i end up in hospital to help me manage my pain but I am lucky enough to be able to control the pain with cocodamol now and during this uncertain times I would rather stay at home with a hot water bottle and pain relief than hospital, it used to be very lonely before and now i dread to think how lonely it is now with the restricted family visits.

I have been always to take peppermint tea to help with constipation and I am trying to drink that twice a day.

Good luck! Staying hydrated is great. You could also consider some cramp bark tea to help take the edge off.
