I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy last week and it was fine - don’t worry! The worst bit is the prep. The nurses keep your dignity as much as possible and I was offered sedation or gas and air. I didn’t have any as mine was a flexible one but for rigid you probably would need something.

It’s uncomfortable and does feel weird as you can feel the scope inside (the worst feeling is when they move it in and out as you worry you’re messing yourself!)

But overall it wasn’t horrendous and didn’t take too long.

Hope it goes well

Thank you. Worried because it is a rigid one that it’s going to hurt. I have endometriosis on my rectum so I know it’s going to be uncomfortable
