As I'm not sure how long mine is going too be due to being on prostap the 3 monthly injection I'm only 27 years old and would like some advice and reassurance thanks xx

Hi, I had one period after my first injection which was usual, painful and heavy but thankfully no others after that 😃 I’ve been on Prostap for 13 months. Have had the odd twinge of cramp here and there but that’s it. The hot flushes and heart palpitations got a bit uncomfortable but they subsided once I started taking the Livial. Best decision I’ve made!!! Hope you have as good a result as I’ve had.

Hi, my consultant is an endo specialist and also works in the US where there have been a number of studies of patients using Prostap long term so she does advocate longer use BUT you have to be completely aware of the side effects and also long term problems such as osteoporosis. I’m 43 so closer to menopause but she’s only happy for me to have a max of 18 months treatment. You’re so much younger so that will be a factor in your Drs decision.

But do make sure your voice is heard. It took me 7 years and an emergency appendectomy where the operation was 4 times longer than it should have been to get a diagnosis. Best of luck!

Hi, I have been on prostap injections for nearly 12 months now, I had a period with my 1st injection but none after that. I still get terrible pain but I stick to them as I dread to think what the pain would be like without these injections. Good Luck and don't worry, any concerns just keep contacting your doctor :) x

Hi x I've been writing down everything so far and its been 7 days and I'm still bleeding but not on my pads! 🙄only when I wipe when using the toilet i dont know if its ending but the consistency is more like sticky blood and darker red not fresh water red .....does this mean my period is coming to an end? Really tbh it should be as it's been 7 days
