Blood from bottom

Hi all, I have my first lap in a week, to diagnose and treat endo. Had pain in lower left pelvic area and back for five years on and off and also bowel problems. I’ve been losing blood from back passage, bright red, does anyone else suffer this?

Hi Painfreeplease, I have had the same issue for over 12 months now and was diagnosed during my diet lap with stage 4 endo penetrating my bowel. Unfortunately they did not have a multidisciplinary team during the surgery so they could only treat the uterus and left the bowel as is.

Since then I’ve battled to get the bowel treatment I need and I started soon after my lap by finding a BSGE registered consultant with experience in bowel endo. This was a really important step in the process of getting the best treatment possible.

Hi there, sorry you are going through this. I have an appt coming to discuss similar symptoms- blood in stool (sometimes looks like pieces of flesh, sometimes raw blood), stabbing/twisting pains that feel like a knife around ovaries/radiating down to pelvis, diarrhoea ,nausea, dizziness,extreme bloating. Recently also pain in back part- from what Ive read, this is the pouch of Douglas. I've been through numerous gastro tests and keep being told it's just IBS (even though blood is a sign that it is not IBS). Are your symptoms similar? It is reassuring (in a sad way) to hear others experience the same and that this is not in my head. I hope your lap goes well.

Hi, I have suffered with blood from there aswell for years. As soon as I need a wee/ poo it gets so bad, i bloat really bad and get really bad cramps/ spasms and I can’t walk until they’ve passed. I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy about a month ago and they found 3 lots of endo. They lasered it away and fitted a coil but it’s not helped and if anything I feel like it’s worse. My gyno said he’s not sure its the endo causing it and I’m hopefully being referred to get the back passage checked out
