Excruciating Lower Left Pelvis Pain

Lately I’ve been experiencing unbearable pain in my lower left pelvis. It got so bad last month that I had to rush to the emergency room to get injected with tramadol because oral mefenamic acid was not working.

I’ve had 2 surgeries already. First one, partial removal of both ovaries (the diseased parts from cysts) and my second surgery was to remove my left ovary completely. I do not know if the pain I am experiencing is from post op adhesions (10yrs ago), my endometriosis, or if there is an underlying problem that my doctors aren’t seeing.

I used to experience this type of pain during my menstruation cycle but now I’ve been getting this pain a lot lately. The pain radiates from my lower back, my pelvis to my upper thigh and gives me this sensation that I need to poo even though I don’t need to empty my bowels. Sometimes I feel gassy so I take simethicone for antiflatulence but it doesn’t help with the pain all of the time. I have been taking mefanamic acid almost everyday (if needed) for the past week and I’m worried about long term effects and of course, dependency.

Has anyone else gone through this type of pain? What caused your pain? What has helped? Did you require surgery or just medicine for pain management? What kind of medicine?

Thank you in advance!

Hi

It sounds like it could be your endo back in a big way.

I would start pushing for another lap. It's the only way theyll know for sure. Yiute experiencing symptoms I've read from others that had endo on their bowel. Definitely start the process and be careful of painkillers, constipation may make symptoms a huge amount worse. I would still to the endometreosis diet in the meantime to try n keep everything moving gently and low inflammatory. Are you on the pill to dampen symptoms around menstruation? If not I'd get thr mini pill as well to try and keep it in control until you can get surgery. Make sure you are referred to a endo specialist, as again too many people on here have had a laparoscopy only to find the gyni was not experienced enough and left all the endo in place, or said there was none when in fact it was behind or inside an organ and they didnt have the experience to look.

Really wishing you all the best xx
