Pain management - tens machine

Hello ladies.

The first part of my post is more of a rant then a question.

I am having an awful Sunday. I didn’t manage to get my repeat prescription in to the doctors in time and have run out of my cocodamol 30/500.

Usually I take 2 tablets 4 times a day to keep on top of it and never realised how much this helped until now!

I feel as though some one is trying to yank my womb out of my body and as though my kidney has been beaten with a baseball bat.

My other half is being wonderful and keeping my hot water bottle topped up, doing the cooking (trying) and rubbing my feet.

So my actual question is has any one tried a tens machine for pain management? If so have you found them effective? Could you recommend any good machines? (On a budget)

Hi I have a tens machine it does help with the pain a bit but soon as you take it off the pain is back, sometimes I had the pain with it on, they are good tho I got mine from Lloyds pharmacy 20 quid give it a go, I asked my Dr if I could have it on all the time he said yes but not all day mines on a timer so I go to bed with mine on sometimes and get to sleep before it ends, they do spare pads for the tens for 5 quid but you do get them with the tens as well hope this helps xx

I got my machine from Lloyds, it helps me quite a lot when I want a bit of short term relief. I would go for one with 4 pads rather than 2 as they only treat a fairly small area, if you have pain all over your stomach/pelvis 4 is better to cover it. Hope you find it helps your pain xx

It's a good distraction from the pain while its on but I've only used mine post opp, I didn't have it prior to surgery so don't know how it would have been during a full blown endo attack. . Mine was £30 from Argos. Its supported by st johns ambulance, has 4 pads and is rechargeable instead of battery powered.

You could try Micro Current Therapy pads by Painmaster (can order from Amazon £24.95.) I find them really useful for cramps and back pain and they helped after my laparoscopy. You need to keep them on all the time (apart from when you shower)! and they last for about 300hrs. Could be psychological but who cares if they work! 💕💕

It’s not too late! My pay day has been and gone and I spent it all so got to wait till next month to invest now 😅😅 but I will have a look into this one!! Thank you x

I have used a tens machine in the past. I bought Boots own mini rens machine. it's a stick on one that I found was discreet. I wore it under my uniform and out on special occasions and no one noticed it. I work in a hospital. I'm allergic to elastoplast and this had gel pads so I had no reactions to it as well which was a bonus.

I'm now on prostap and HRT so no longer use it.
