I'm awaiting my second laparoscopy, supposed to be within the next 3 months. Past few days, as well as my usual pain in my left side, back, bum and abdomen, I've had extreme pain in my ribs. I couldn't sleep with it last night, it was throbbing so much, worse if I was on my back.
Has anyone experienced this?
I take co-codamol, amitriptyline and last night had to have 10ml of or a morph from my emergency stash.
I don't know if I should go to hospital so they could try and get on top of my pain and maybe do a scan to see if there's any obvious sign of cysts or anything.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I have had this rib pain too, my Dr thought it was like stomach acid from the painkillers I was taking to gave me an antacid for my stomach. It didn't really help for me to be honest. So I'm unsure what it is too. Do go to hospital if you need to for the pain! Thinking of you and hope it improves soon for you! Xx
Thank you so much for replying. I ended up coming into hospital, I've been admitted to the ward for pain relief and supposed to be having a scan today. So far they've given me lower dose pain relief than I take at home and refuse to up the dose! I feel so down hearted, yet again it feels like it's been a waste of time coming here, I'm still in pain and being treated like a fraud. It's always an absolute last resort coming in to hospital and every time I regret it
Owh I'm so sorry to hear that, hopefully they can give you something more and check if there is anything else going on. Try to relax and remember your feelings are valid and you deserve to be helped xxx
