Where to turn now?

Hello again everyone,

I’m really hoping someone has a miracle answer. I’ve just come off cerazette. I had high hopes for it working, took the headaches at the beginning, the random bleeding and worsened pain but what it’s done to my mental health was the last straw. I suffer with anxiety anyway but I’m at the point that I can’t go out because anxiety has turned into major panic.

I’ve had the mirena before and it affected my mood badly and had excision surgery 2 years ago.

I don’t think I can have anything that messes with my hormones so that leaves me with no options anymore ☹️

I can’t do this anymore, I seriously feel life is not worth living! I get debilitating fatigue along with pain, on and off gastritis, I’m just going round in circles! It has affected every part of my life and it’s making me angry, I don’t see anyone apart from my mum and my partner who I’m afraid won’t be my partner much longer! What can I do?

Have you tried Zoladex?

Have you had any surgery to remove endo growths? Would you consider a hysterectomy? Have you seen an endo specialist or just a gynae?

The endo itself, the chemicals it creates, will mess with your head, so this isn't necessarily something that is part of you, just caused by the endo.

Also check out this post I did some time back, it might help.

I am so scared to try zoladex, one thing with the pill is at least I could just stop taking it, once zoladex is in my system then I’ll have to wait a long time for it to leave my system, if u get what i mean.

I’m with a Endo specialist, I had excision surgery in 2016. They prescribed the cerazette and I’m also going to be having physio for pelvic dysfunction with them.

I will have a read of ur old post, thank you for taking the time to reply x

Some people have had problems on Zoladex but it was wonderful for me. The shortest injections lasts one month and a little more for your body to return to normal, I think it is worth a try considering how bad you feel.

Did u have the add back hrt with it? I’ll try to call my consultant and see what they think, I haven’t got an appointment with them till April but hopefully I’ll be able to speak to them over the phone x

I did not have HRT the first time, years before I was diagnosed and things were very good then. The second time I was seriously ill with the endo but got significant relief once on Zoladex but at that time was on Tibolone. After my hysterectomy I stayed on Tibolone for about 8 months but realised that was making me ill, so stopped taking it.

Sorry for all the questions but has hysterectomy helped?

Questions are what we are here for :)

Yes, the hysterectomy has helped a great deal, I had both ovaries removed too.

I have to say that if I had been diagnosed when I was younger and realised how bad it would be, I would have had the hysterectomy and adopted children. As it is I spent most of my life struggling to find energy enough to work and make a living and so had little social life and no energy for a relationship, so missed the chance to have children.

Thank you so much, just talking about it with someone helps.

That’s made me feel sad that u haven’t been able to have children. I have a 19 month old, she’s amazing but having Endo has made me unable to enjoy her how I’d like to, as u say energy to do anything is the problem and now I have guilt towards her aswell as Endo x
