Endometriosis and urologist

Hi guys

I've just been to my gp asking for a scan. As my gynecologist found no obvious signs of Endometriosis..

I'm in pain most of the time. Painful sex. And extremely painful urination among some of my symptoms.

I'm at my wit's end. He won't send me for a scan as he said my gynecologist is a good doctor and did the gold standard of laproscopy which he did 5 weeks ago looking for endometriosis but found adhesions. 10 years ago I had my tube and ovary removed as it was mangled distorted and my ovary was a huge mass! I don't know why it was this way I was never told.

Now the pain is just the same if not worse. And the pain to have a wee is unbelievable I'm struggling with it. Gp gave me a choice to either be referred back to gyny or urologist.. I didn't know what to do .. so he has referred me to urologist?

Has anyone else seen one? Should I go see a specialist endometriosis doc, anyone know of anyone in the Lancashire UK area?

Thanks for your help. X

Hello Amelie8.

You may find it helpful to have a look at the BSGE website bsge.org.uk/centre/. This has a list of all the accredited endometriosis treatment centres in the UK. You should be able to find one near you.

Best wishes

I have endo and before I was diagnosed I kept going to the doctors with what I thought was bladder infections. Antibiotics never helped and it always felt like my bladder was on fire! Excruciating pain to the point I couldn’t even hold a conversation at work. I ended up paying privately to see a well know endo gyne A’s was going round in circles. When my gyne did the diagnostic lap he found extensive endo across my pelvis but nothing on my bladder, but did say it looked inflamed. It’s interstitial cystitis which can be triggered by hormone levels and basically causes a very angry bladder and can be painful to wee. I often felt like it was a strain / tugging feeling and always worse during my period too.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble but do hope you get some answers soon :( xx

So I have to meet this "There has to be evidence of severe or suspected severe disease or non-severe endo that has already proved refractory to treatment in gynaecology." Or been diagnosed with endo to be seen? Xx
