Hi everyone,

Hoping to get some advice. After 2.5 years of trying to conceive i was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis and had surgery with the excellent James English. He diagnosed me with stage two. Then, 2 cycles later I fell pregnant, it felt like a miracle after trying for so long and our son Jack was born the following April.

We've been trying to conceive again, started around 2 months ago. However, sadly in the last month or two ive noticed endo symptoms have returned. Painful periods, pain radiating down front/inside thighs, pain in hip area etc. Also end of this period has started to get clotty. After what's felt like a year and a half of perfect periods, arriving on time, no spotting etc etc it's been a rude awakening that we are never truly free of this awful bloody disease!

Anyway, I wanted to get some opinions really on whether I should just go for the surgery now, I'm 37 and time is not on my side. Or wait for a few more months of trying, not sure how many and go then? My concern is that each time you have surgery am I correct in thinking it can cause scar tissue making it even harder for egg to implant etc? Also, has anyone found any natural supplements/alternative remedies that have worked for them? I've heard that was a study on pycenegol which showed promising results. I've also just ordered endo complex from wild nutrition created by Henrietta Norton author of Take Control of your endometriosis. It contains Indole 3 carbinol, Betaine hydrochloride and Milk Thistle Powder. Has anyone had any experience with either of those supplements before?

Thanks again for reading!

Hi Red1981,

Thank you for your post. It sounds like you've got a lot of decisions to make. While we at EndometriosisUK can't give you advice, we do have a helpline available to help you talk through some of the above issues and maybe even help you reach a resolution. The number and hours of operation are listed here:

endometriosis-uk.org/helpline

It sounds like you've got some specific medical questions as well, so we would really recommend discussing the above with your GP; as they could specifically advise you on whether to get the surgery or wait to get pregnant.

I hope you're able to find some peace of mind soon,

Kind regards,

Gemma
