Hi

Ive had severe endo with 2 x 30cm edometriomas. I need to have both ovaries removed and probably womb too.

I am due to start zoladex to shut everything down and start tibolone at the same time to stop the meno side effects.

My question is. My first injection i have booked on week 3 of my cycle, as doc said it didnt matter, but ive read it shoumd be on days 3 to 5 of your cycle.

Does anyone have any experience?

What did u do? How did you find zoladex and tiolone? Was there lots of weight gsin?

Any help would be greatfully received

Xx

Hi

I started on zoladex two months ago I was worried as my period was due and thought it weird to have it five days before it was due. My period arrived just five days late and went on for two weeks. Had no meds to help with side effects, so had lots on migraines which is normal for me when I have low estrogen, but the hot flushes and insomnia are the pits.

I am due the third on Dec 14th. After which they said I would be allowed some HRT to help because I'll be having a six month course.

I assume you must have had lots of surgery if they are saying they need to be removed. I have five endos and just one ovary left, this is a short term thing so I might be eligible for IVF.

Good luck with it all 🍀

Thank you for responding. Its reassuring that someone else started it around tge same time as me.

Im due to have surgery to remove both ovaries and womb due to severe endo and they are putting me through a chemical menopause so i dont crash. Im starting tibolone to help with side effects.

It sounds dreadful what you went through, i hope you are starting to feel better?

Ive just seen that you are pre ivf.

I went through ivf 10 years ago now to have my daughter, then had a spontaneous pregnancy with my second daughter.

Infertility is awful, aside from the pain of endo, but even with stage 4 endo pregnancy was possible. X

That’s all right then! A lot of women do gain weight during menopause but if you’re younger than you would be naturally, I think that makes it easier to avoid putting on the weight, especially if you’re determined not to. I was irritable and moody for the first 3 or 4 months but then it settled down and I’m fine now. Hope that helps xx
