I’m pregnant!

I had my laparoscopy in the middle of August and have already fallen pregnant. I am now 6 weeks!

I’m super excited but I have some concerns as I have been experiencing a small amount of cramping which seems to be affecting my left hand side mostly. Its on the same side as my scar from my lap and I was wondering if this might have anything to do with it?

Has anyone else experienced this so soon after having a lap and falling pregnant?

Thanks :) xx

Huge congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

I’m 8 weeks pregnant after my last laparoscopy. I fell the second month.

I also had twinges & cramps at 5 and a half weeks, I think it could be the scar tissue from where endometriosis was removed & I suspect yours is the same. The uterus is stretching & might be irritating the scar tissue. Try not to worry. Easier said than done!

Also you could have trapped air as bloating is so common in early pregnancy alongside constipation ☹️ drink lots of fluids 🙂

The cramps are not happening so much now & my endo symptoms have eased so much 🙂 surgery for me never eased my symptoms ☹️

All the best with your pregnancy xoxo

Thanks you! And congratulations to you too!

That’s what I thought it might but was getting so paranoid that it might be something wrong.

Thank you so much because this has really put my mind at ease!

Congratulations! I had my lap on the 25th June and fell pregnant around the 4th Aug. I'm now 12 weeks :). I had daily mild cramps from 5 weeks to about 8 and then it seemed to settle. I still get the odd hour or so but I just use a hot water bottle and it seems to pass. I had an early scan at 5 weeks because I was so scared by the pains and then another at 7 as they wanted to try and date it ( I hadn't started periods again since zoladex). A heartbeat and healthy baby was seen. I'm now waiting on my next scan this week. Easier said than done but try not to worry unless you have bleeding and even then some light spotting is normal. Wishing you all the best xxx

Hi nanungi, I finished zoladex early June and got pregnant around the 4th Aug. I have seen websites that said you should wait 4 months but to be honest we weren't trying and it happened when we didn't think it would. I was really scared I conceived too quickly after stopping zoladex but the consultant said it would be out of my system and the fact I ovulated showed this. I had 4 monthly injections in total and found the injection a much needed break from pain whilst I waited for a laproscopy. Xxx

Thank you. I know how very lucky I am. I'm 27 so quite young and would have planned to have babies later but I didn't want to risk not being able to have them as the disease progressed. I was lucky in that the endo was found in my pelvis but hadn't got my tubes or ovaries. Sometimes it takes a little while to get a positive result. I keep everything crossed for you and hope you get what you want soon! Xx

You will worry, I still do but for every worry try to think of a positive. Somehow I feel this balances it up! Thank you, you too xxx

Hey it's very normal to get that in pregnancy early on it's when the embryo embeds in the lining of the uterus. Sometimes u get spotting as well. Ligament and uterine changes all occur too. Xx

Hi, I had the same pains in early pregnancy from my lap. It's definitely just stretching and should stop for a while. However, I am 21 weeks pregnant and noticed am getting if back as my baby is growing and kicking. So I'm afraid it's just part of it after the surgery. However, it's a good sign because it means your body, and baby, are doing what they are supposed to! Congratulations and I hope all goes well throughout your pregnancy. Trust me that the worrying has only just started though, it's totally natural, especially if you've had a bit of a journey to get pregnant in the first place. X

Thank you. It’s good to know that other people experience the same and I don’t need to worry about every little twinge that might happen. Congrats and hope everything goes well in throughout your pregnancy. X

Congratulations. Hopefully someone will have some experience to respond with soon. 😊

Hey congratulations to all the ladies that have replied here and are pregnant. Just wanted to know what stage endo you all have or had, not that endo disappears. I’m 30 years old and stage 4, have not had excision yet just diagnostic lap and cyst drainage and would love to have a baby but I’m not in a relationship at the moment. It’s so reassuring to hear stories of endo warriors falling pregnant as we all fear that we won’t have babies with this disease.

Sending hugs to all of you xx

I can’t help in the fact I do not know my stage ( my specialist was not forth coming with information 🤦🏽‍♀️) but was superficial & all over my POD, uteroscaral ligaments & rectum. Mine regrew rapidly especially after my chemical pregnancy last year ( a very early loss) & I had another 2 surgeries ( the gynae couldn’t remove it all & I ended up being referred to a endometriosis specialist that did my third lap) Following that surgery of being completely cleared of endo & a round of clomid I conceived within the first cycle & I’m 36 so no spring chicken!

Luckily for us it was the only issue.

It took us over 7 years - it took 5 years & 10 months of TTC to find endometriosis 🤦🏽‍♀️ but we got there.

Since my pregnancy has been properly established it’s given me huge relief from endo symptoms!!!👌🏻😏

It’s very possible and you will have a baby one day xoxo

Congratulations, it must have been so difficult having to go through years of trying. But it was clearly meant to be because you have now got there! I hope everything with you pregnancy goes well!! Xxx

Awwww it’s so nice to hear it all worked out. My endo is kind of everywhere. I’m waiting on a lap in a couple months for excision. Fingers crossed they remove everything although I do feel they are going to say they couldn’t remove it all. I’m never that lucky to get what I want but a little more confident as my doctor is a very good endo specialist in London. I’m really annoyed though that the nhs doesn’t support women with endo at severe stages by helping them freeze their eggs for use later on as they want you to be in a relationship to even do a dye test to see if you can conceive at all.

Sorry I’m just ranting 🙈😂

thank you for your reply I do hope I will have children one day too. 🙏🏼 Hope your pregnancy is coming along fabulously. Xx

With stage 4 getting pregnant is so difficult

And my doctor said for me natural pregnancy has very low chance to happen with stage 4 endometriosis

pinpops profile image
pinpops in reply to Bdgjdjd

Hi

Yes they say that but I saw a specialist in another country this summer to get a second opinion and he saw my laparoscopy op internal images and said it’s severe but he said I think you can still conceive naturally as prime areas like my Fallopian tubes are not severely effect as yet. So I’m still hopeful. You should be too! Xx

Did it affect both of your ovaries like chocolate cysts on both of them ?

pinpops in reply to Bdgjdjd

No just one ovary has a chocolate cyst. The other one is polycystic.

Huge congratulations!! My story is that I had my laparoscopy in January and was diagnosed with stage 4 Endometriosis. I went on Zoladex for 4 months which was really tough! Then we started IVF. Unfortunately our first IVF cycle was not succesful. I have now just found out I have fallen pregnant naturally! A Miracle! I am feeling very nervous about it. I think some cramps in early pregnancy are normal. All the best! x x x

Congratulations!!! I have only learnt about this today before reading your post. I’ve not yet had a laparoscopy. But am due to meet with Infertility gyno in November.

Congratulations! It’s normal to have cramps at this stage so try not to worry too much (easier said than done). What stage was your endo and where did they remove it from? This gives me so much hope!
