Hi I have yet to receive a diagnosis, I just keep getting fobbed off by the doctors. Last time I went to see the gynaecologist he prescribed me tablets to reduce the bleeding. This cycle I have been in absolute agony, taken time off work and not been able to sleep due to excruciating pain. Last night I nearly went to A&E as the pain was so bad, despite taking cocodamol 30/500, brufen and my prescribed medication. How do I push for a laparoscopy??

Hey!
Be persistent..Keep going back to the GP..I did..the first time they fobbed me off with IBS (which i do have) second time..Cysts on my ovaries..Had internal and external scans (came back all clear) went back again..and she finally settled on it maybe being endo..My mum and gran and some of my female cousins have/had it so they knew the symptoms..She finally listened and I've got my first consultant app this month..God knows what's guna happen there..But we'll see! x
Thanks for your reply and I do hope your appointment goes well x
My GP was fab who I saw last time, he automatically referred me to the consultant . It was the consultant who fobbed me off, prescribed me two lots of tablets (I’ve forgot the names but they are to reduce the bleeding and the other is an anti inflammatory I think). He said it can’t be endometriosis as my periods are regular and I don’t bleed between cycles. Basically said even if I was to have a laparoscopy he’d treat me the same as he is now, so pointless.
I can’t continue with this pain every month.. I’m a nurse and should know better but I know that I overdose on cocodamol every month for a few days during my cycle , but those few days a month I’d rather be dead than continue with the pain
