I’ve managed to get to the doctors and got myself a referral to the hospital to see a Consultant for a second opinion, although it might not be a consultant it might be a member for their team... and it’s not until January 2019!
I mean I can’t complain to much as I have got an appointment but that’s a long way away if I’m in pain now?!
How frustrating
I feel your pain. It took me 7 months to get an appt to a gynae for a 2nd opinion and then had my lap in april with the follow up in sept. He then said i need a further surgery with a urologist on stand by but that his earliest appt is 9 months on the NHS. 😪 Luckily I have family that have organised me to go private as they cant see me struggling anymore. If you are in that much pain just keep hassling your GP as they are there to help and if they get stuck they will usually get advice from gynaes in hospital xx good luck with your appt at least its soon(ish) and hopefully you will get the answers you are looking for but i know its frustrating!! Just remember they want to see you sooner its just shows the NHS is really struggling and they are doing the best of what they are given.
I feel your pain too. It took me nearly 10 months to see a specialist despite having an ‘urgent’ referral - on the bright side, once I got to see them they saw how bad things had gotten so booked my surgery to happen within the month. My GP was very supportive, writing letters to ask them to see me sooner (leading to me getting a cancellation appointment) or suggest treatment I could start in the meantime because she knew it was impacting on my mental health. I need to see a colorectal specialist and the next available appointment was in June at my local hospital so knowing I wouldn’t feel great about another long wait, my GP gave me the option of a choose and book appointment referral so I could choose where to be seen and I’m being seen at the end of October. Maybe this is an option for you?
