Hi everyone, I’m 20 and have been diagnosed with Endometriosis since i was 18 after having my appendix removed. I didn’t really take it seriously for a year thinking it would just go away and telling myself I would be fine.
I’ve had bad and very heavy since I was 15 and I always thought everyone else was the same as me. As I got older I had to take time off of school due to not physically being about to get out of bed.
After reading and article about Endo I thought I should see my doctor about it and I got a referral to the hospital, they said to me it wasn’t bad enough for an another operation and the only thing they could suggest was taking the pill. I point blank refused as i tried so many and it just made my mood swings horrible.
It’s been a year since I’ve been to the doctors about this and the pains in my legs are being unbearable, I struggle to walk some days or I get a painful shooting pain from my ankle to my thigh making my thigh feel very bruised which makes me stop what I’m doing.
Does anyone have experience similar things to this as I haven’t been about to find much on leg pain caused by endometriosis?
Hello yes I get pain in my left leg and some days it feels like my bones are aching me. I would try and get back on to your GP, it took me 6 years to be diagnosed and I have now had 2 surgery’s. Hope they sort something for you x
My advice would be to be persistent with your GP to get a referral. Detail and explain to them the issues it is causing you! I had a long road (as most people do) to get diagnosed and it’s still on going over 2 years after diagnoses!
I also get the pain in my left leg although mine is from the top of my thigh to the middle.
It’s not an easy journey but speaking about it with people who understand and getting different opinions does help! If you need to talk just message
