First time bleeding after laparoscopy

Hi all,

I am 22 and had my second laparoscopy 4 weeks ago, i am now having my first period since this and I am in agony along with heavy bleeding and loosing big blood clots, I am having to change my pad so frequently as i will leak through if i dont.

Has anyone else suffered with this on there first period? ☹️ Xx

Unfortunately, I think this is normal. I had my laparoscopy in May and my period came a week after. I had never had a period like it, very heavy and many clots, and bad cramps, but each period has got easier for me. I have also read of quite a few girls who have experienced similar. A hot water bottle and cocodamol were my best friends! Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you and yes a hot water bottle is a must! This has put my mind as ease as I thought something could be wrong x

Hi there,

I am going through the exact same thing right now! So so heavy! And in a lot of pain and clotting but a lot of people are saying this is normal after a lap and endo removal I can imagine our insides are still healing and trying to deal with a period! Hope you feel better soon hun and everything crossed that the next one will not be half as bad!! Xxx
