I’m so nervous

I’m going for my initial appointment with a gynaecologist this morning. I’ve waited nearly 9 months for the appointment and wasn’t due to see him until next month but they phoned me yesterday with a cancellation.

I feel so unprepared and I’m so nervous that they will say there is nothing wrong with me when there clearly is. I barely slept last night - partly because of nerves but mostly because of pain.

Just needed to let it all out.

Big hugs you, I get it each time I go as I’m convinced they will tell me I’m wasting there time. Please feel reassured if there a proper endo specialist they should ‘get it’. I’ve always found them really good as we come with a range of issues. I had problems with a pelvic pain specialist who stood in for my usual one who basically asked me what I wanted!! When he came back he was not happy with what she did which did upset me as 3 months were wasted.

Big confident with what your saying as this is happen to you not them.

🤞🏻for you

Hi 👋 you know your body and you know what is ”normal” and “not normal” so tell them everything even if it is awkward. I’ll never forget the first time I had to explain my bowel issues 🙈🙈 - they can’t help without knowing everything. Everything’s crossed for you and if it’s bad you go back and keep pushing. No doctor should say your wasting there time. We get pain because something is wrong and they are there to wrk out what that is.

Good luck xx

Hi - Thanks for all of your kind messages. I’ve been referred for Hysteroscopy to have within the next 2 months and recommended to have the coil inserted as well as a smear under general anaesthetic. I’ve also got to have some biopsies taken of my womb, cervix and other places (but cannot remember) - the gynaecologist said he thinks endometriosis is unlikely but when I mentioned issues with rectal bleeding.etc. he said that he thinks he may investigate further with a lap depending on results of Hysteroscopy.
