I had an mri on 5th aug and was told I’d get results in 10-14 days. I’ve been chasing it up since and it still hasn’t been processed.
I was told that when results were in I’d be booked for my first laparoscopy.
Finally today, I got to talk to the secretary of the consultant that requested it, she said I’m booked for another MRI this coming Monday, which I haven’t yet received a letter about, and is assuming they want both results before my next appointment. This means I’ve got another 4-8 weeks wait until those results are in.
Originally I was told I’d need two MRIs, I mentioned this at first mri and I can’t understand why they didn’t just do both then.
I know there are more urgent medical cases and I’m grateful for the nhs.
Think I’m just miserable. I’m in pain and have had ongoing symptoms since I was 17.. I’m 33 now and undiagnosed.
Feeling pretty sorry for myself

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had a long wait.. I’ve waited longer than I was given the impression I’d have to wait.. but I wasn’t given and mri.. I had an ultrasound and then was booked in to see a consultant at the hosp.. my ultrasound showed cysts according to one doctor, and another said no, but speculated it was endo (very confusing and a bit unsettling).
That was six weeks ago. I rang and rang (and raaaang) the clinic as heard nothing in all this time, no one answered or responded to my messages. I finally rang my GP and he explained it takes a long time as endo is non urgent.. lo and behold I received confirmation of the pre-op assessment in the mail a few days later which did make me wonder if someone had forgotten to submit something.
Anyway, I hope things move along more swiftly for you! 💕💕💕
Thank you. I had my second mri. Was told they needed images of a broader area, requested by the consultant after viewing images from the first 🤷🏻♀️.. even though when chasing it up I was told it hadn’t been processed..
It sometimes feels like we get lost in the system doesn’t it?
I’m glad you’ve got a date for pre op at least, let me know how that goes. Does that give you any idea of when lap date might be?
