Hi Lola 😊 I am finding it a bit surreal tbh, I still really don’t know much about the condition and never really thought what I was suffering with could be Endo till a few months ago. I’m really glad I’ve joined, thank you for messaging me. Have you also recently been diagnosed? Xxx

Yeah I did aswell... neither did I till I joined this group I found myself googling everything 🙈 you do learn a lot on here aswell, yeah I was diagnosed April 18, unfortunately mines is stage 4 a big shock for me when my surgeon spoke to me.. a bit of mixed emotion really tbh as glad I was diagnosed but did not expect to be stage 4 even tho my pain is so horrific.. waiting for my big op hoping not to long now. Did they take any endo away? Or did u get the diagnosic lap? Xx

Yeah I thought google was going to be the answer to everything lol! I can imagine that must have been a big shock, if you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been suffering for? Is the big op to get rid of the scarring then? They took as much as they could away as it was just diagnostic but like you said they was surprised with what they saw and I’ll have to have another op soon xxx

Thank you lizzy, really appreciate that and thanks for the welcome 😊 how did you find the recovery from your op? Xxx

I found it quite easy tbh, was fully back to normal after about 10 days (as normal as you can be with endo lol) but saying that it was purely a diagnostic lap and all that my surgeon did was take pictures as it was too extensive so nothing was removed unfortunately. How has recovery been for you? xxx

Welcome Becky

...and to the world of endo! It is a steep learning curve but you’re in a great place to get lots of questions answered and hopefully feel support that you’re not alone in this. Endometriosis still doesn’t get nearly the coverage it deserves, at its most severe stage (as I have) it creeps into every part of your life and causes havoc yet you still rarely see much understanding from the wider community, nor the medical profession a lot of the time. At least on here you’ll read of a lot from lovely ladies who probably have a lot of the same worries as you, so you hopefully won’t feel too alone in fighting the endometriosis. It can be a battle and a half but everyone on here is v supportive. Best of luck here on in x

Hey sez, thank you for the welcome and the huge reassurance that I can talk to other people who understand how I feel. I actually already feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I am already finding it a battle, sorry to hear yours is at the severe stage, you must be very strong women 😊 xxx

No problem. A lot of the battle is from feeling like most people don’t understand and annoyingly underestimate the condition, I find most just don’t have a clue about the pain and associated complications that endometriosis can bring, so hopefully this site will at least offer you that support from others who do understand what this condition entails.

I’m so pleased to hear you’ve felt some weight lifted already! I had symptoms for well over 15yrs before any doctor wised up and even then the long-awaited diagnosis didn’t happen in this country. I’ve learnt to trust your gut, don’t put doctors on a pedestal when they think they’re God, they’re not and you can often find you’ll know more about endometriosis than they do at times, especially GPs! My Endo got so severe as it lay undiagnosed for years and in turn I’m unlikely to have children. Do whatever you can and learn as much as you can and never be afraid to ask questions. As a teacher once said to me...No question is silly, you’re just silly not to ask!! I have had to learn to be very strong, I’d do anything not to walk the road I’ve had to, it changes you for the better in some respects, but I’ll never be the person I was pre-Endo. You find the fighter in you and you’ll be proud of yourself I’m sure. All the very best x x
