Can endo pain come and go?? Worried my diagnostic lap will show nothing :(

All my symptoms are getting quickly worse and worse every day but one day in a blue moon I feel (almost) normal. And it’s terrifying me that I’ll have the diagnostic lap and they won’t find anything 🙁😢

I’ve been wrongly diagnosed so many times I’m desperate for this to be the answer and to get treated! I am 99% sure it’s endo, along with all the usual symptoms I’ve got a polyp on my uterus and a 5cm ovarian cyst. But does anyone else have the odd day where the pain is almost not there?? I love them rare days! But it’s making me worry 😫😢. Do ‘endo flare ups’ exist?

Hiya! I definitely have my days when I feel like nothings there, and other days I take to my bed because it’s so bad. As for having the diagnostic lap, go through with it no matter what, even if it’s simply to rule endo out. When I first when to my docs, I was told it was in my head, then it was my bowels, until my gp finally referred me for an ultrasound. They found one small cyst, which they said was normal. She referred me to gynae but with the waiting list that long i got a private appointment, and the gynae suggested a laparoscopy to me. I had my laparoscopy last Friday, even on the morning of the surgery the surgeon said to me he also believed it was my bowels, which was really making me doubt everything. Well he was wrong, extensive endometriosis all over my pelvis. I’m now waiting on a referral to a specialist. No matter what it’s worth it. I hope you get word soon x

God, isn’t it a good job you listened to your body and not the doctors! Xxx

I’m worried about the same thing- I have my lap next week and my symptoms seem to have pretty much disappeared over the last couple of weeks..

I worried also because my pain disappears some days and I was worried it won’t be endo and I’ll be back to square one but I’ve read a lot about the pain coming and going and ‘flare ups’. Hope your op goes well and gives you some answers 💓 xxx

Yes, some days are pain free. That’s completely normal with endo. It can make it difficult for others to understand the illness, because one day you’re fine and the next week, you can’t get out of bed.

Couldn’t agree more! Friends, family and work do not understand the pain I’m in because some days I can be my normal, silly self and other days I appear to be ‘moody’ because I can’t leave my bed due to being in absolute agony!! X
